You do an unbelievab... moreThen you simply don't understand the market. The people who buy Google Pixels ARE NOT the same people that would be a luxury product from Porsche Design (or any other luxury brands).
The price-tag is not the issue here, it's actually "affordable" for a luxury product. The real problem is, what makes this a luxury product? Porsche Design should be known for (*drum rolls*) their design, and they've just made a faux-pas: their product looks a lot like something else of a "lower" market (yes even a S7 Edge is lower here), only adding a super-sized logo and higher price-tag.
It's anyone's guess as to this phone's success. Maybe the *affordable* price-tag (for that market) will still save it.

Wow, your folks appear really biased.
You do an unbelievable amount of complaining about the pricing of the pixel but we get, maybe, two mentions of the 1395€ tag for a phone that doesn't appear to have microsd, ip68, stereo speaker, a tremendous camera, but comes without the guaranteed updates, a rather fun system to unlock, and a proprietary fast charging method.
Definitely seems reasonable to not make as big of a deal about price as you did with the pixel...

Huawei ftw, and I do like my main p8max phone. (particallyt the landscape feature hence thump management that is a must on 6.8inch thin phone (will EMUI5.0 be on the table for Huawei 3GB Pseries.(hopefully this Kirin860fellow doesnt seem that strong)
but ewen the new phone, that is intended as secondary and back-up for the main, performs better then this 700euro phone from Huawei (than in my country aka worlds most tax'ed (Denmark) - will cost close to a little above 1k US when moms (25%) & tax is effected and ewen more if you import., hence handling-fee
but lets hope its actually faster when the SW in final release evolves, as to an 37.7k score in Basemark x is ewn lover the the new budget phone i just got 222US dark grey phone from LeEco X822 with 2k screen 5.7 ..
tjahh on a little over 200US-phone im getting scores around the 42.639 mark in Basemark and Mate9 (37.716) and in High im getting 36.557..(no score for Mate9)

same with other scores, Qualcomms Vellamo std Chrome browsermark 5950 and Webview 6121 but yeah its is blazing fast on web, but on the end of the day, ewen my old P8max64gb is sufficient for my speed-demands, so often other factors that you find vital for ones need.
I for one do cherise my p8max and are impressed with its capablelity to catch the nighsky/stars on different shutter-settings, and I cherise the 4colored sensor, RGB+W in cacthing light quite a lot better then other mobilecams i have got my hands on and am a succer for the landscape-features in p8max 6.8.
is that also valid in the smaller Huawei-handset, to adjust for landscape-mode in general use.. not the case in my latest X822 also pretty big 2k 5.7...

The Porsche design (front) looks like a child took one of the Samsungs or Xiaomis with the curved edge screen and slapped an horribly suped-sized lettering!
They should have made the font even *bigger*, 'cause that logo is what people will be paying for (design obviously not being it).
