03 August 2007

Since we are all on dual-sim 'revolution' now, anyone out there ever thot of starting the tri-sim 'paradigm-shift'? With all these talks of 'world is smaller than u think','globalisation' and 'environmental-friendliness' just as well make it quad-sim. Dont laff, I am an expatriate working in a country that requires dual-sim and in my home country, a dual-sim option is not that far-fetched either.Think CREDIT CARD.Let the consumers dictate what they want.Look, with the amount of R&D required to develop dual-sim, it only makes sense to take the initiative and lead the way.I am sure a leading manufacturer would see the viability of these.

Sprint advertises that they offer "alternate line service" which is one phone with 2 lines, one for business, one for personal. They even seperate the bill. Has anyone heard of this and if so how do they do it?

By the way, true dual sim phones (ones where both sims are on standby and you can receive calls / SMS from both anytime) are just a few months old. The dual sims that guys are talking about that had been around in the Philippines for years are just dual sim HOLDERS or dual sim ADAPTERS, wherein you still need to switch between sims and therefore cannot receive calls / SMS from both anytime. Also, those holders / adapters compromise the phone where they are installed.

If you guys are waiting for the big companies to start producing dual sim phones... It'll never happen. If ever it does, it's a loooong time from now. The reason is that they get a LOT of pressure from all the carriers around the world. Do you really think Globe would want Nokia to start producing phones that can hold both Smart and Globe sims? And believe me, these carriers have a huge hold on the top mobile phone manufacturers.

For those who are apprehensive regarding buying phones manufactured in China, I can tell you from experience (I work in an electronics company who sometimes outsources from the Chinese) that Chinese engineering skills and workmanship can range from awful to truly excellent. So, all you need to do is get a little info on the track record of the manufacturer of your target phone so you can make sure of the quality. One drawback though is that regardless of product quality, the manual will be near useless. Leave it to the Chinese to produce English manuals and you'll end up with funny results.

It is really a practically Great Idea, you Have 2LINES, 1PHONE. This is really convenient and avoid the hustle of bringing 2 phones.
I have C828/K880 dual Active SIM with TV and FM Radio for Sale at P8500. If you are interested, sms/call me at +639285042942/+639233503499.
When you have a call on both phones at the same time, it has a Call waiting feature, which allows you to receive both calls, of course, if you want to talk to the other party, you should put him on Stand-by and return to the other party.
                        Isn't it Great?

For dual sim card phones, mostly produced by china factory, it can use two cards standby at the same time, most of those phones, are with bluetooth function. I just found one site for u, www.totobay.com, you can check it, and maybe u can find what you need.

a company called MyPhone recently introduced the MyPhone T22 a dual sim phone from China with full service support. MyPhone is owned by the same company that distributes Sony Electronic appliances here in the Philippines so the phones must be good. Selling price is about $200. My friend also bought a dual sim phone made by Haier in HongKong for about the same price and has had no problems with the unit. Both sims are active at the same time.

I know that the dutch guys from http://www.dual-sim.nl offer really cheap Dual-Sim Adapters, too. No need of rebooting and battery-time is remained. Fits in all cellphones they say. Downside of it is that the website is in Dutch ;-)
