T Rex, 27 Jun 2017Dear @gsmarena your reviews have been my goto place for unb... moreDo you owns Xperia XZ Premium? If not, please don't makes any judgement to bashing Sony, because you never have all these tested phones, it's is also not fair to use an older device to cover the GSMarena latest reviews, unless you have bias mindsets.

The HTC U11 was the clear winner for me and has been a consistent winner in most review, not for getting the DXO Mark score.

My XZ Premium does have auto focus in the front-facing camera. The article implies it didn't.

The article says most of situations XZ was better.
And some people still say bad things.
Must be people who only have Galaxy J or Moto G3

Would say U11 is best one, as it catch most detail be it stills or 4K, also great in low light and in 3D audio capture. Iphone got 1/3" sensor, you can see it in colors, also not so sharp output as U11, also audio is almost joke today, even lumia 830 can do 5.1 :) ,next XZPremium got at least 2 mics for stereo, high resolution sensor, the biggest one with best colors also, But pics got less detail than U11, be it stills or 4K, algorithm makes pics finally usable but still fall behind in details, only sharp edges thx to resolution remain(there is about so much detail as in iphone or S8, but U11 is something else).
As for me when I compare 950XL to others, punchy colors kills competition, still better a bit off with color than to have it washed out. 4mics in lumia are still the top with nobody offering better recording without distortion, also some offer just 2 or even 1 mic. U11 is definitely closest to it overall as cameraphone.

My opinion:
Apple iPhone 7 Plus = better quality photos (more natural)
HTC U11 = better looking phone (my favorite of the 3)
Sony Xperia XZ Premium = CRAP (AS ALWAYS)!!!

I have both phones at the moment, the U11 and the XZP. In daylight they both offer a great quality, sometimes you have more details with XZP because of more Pixels. In low light it´s a really mixed bag. The U11 isn´t that good in low light, the pictures are either too dark or too noisy. You have to play around with the settings for ISO and Shutter Speed a lot. And even than for example the evening sky is often simply too saturated. I also have the feeling that the OIS isn´t that good. Maybe HTC can fix those issues by an update. You shouldn´t trust all those "professional" reviews that praised the U11 as the best camera ever like they also did with the S8, which is a disappointment when you only zoom in a little bit.
The XZP generally delivers better colours. When you use it as a daily life smartphone you will have the same problems at night like with the U11 - probably even earlier. But when you stabilize it f.e. with a tripod you can get really, really nice results. The problem is, that you normally don´t carry a tripod around with you and just want to take handheld photos in spontaneous situations. Sony should really use OIS in their phones, I guess than they would easily win every comparison. Conclusion: It´s really difficult and I will test them more in the upcoming night. I only can confirm that Sony solved some issues that they had with their previous cameras.

Hi GSMarena. I have enjoyed this review as usually, but it also made me wondering that if I was in charge in GSMarena I would make sure that my team never-ever need to write: This camera shootout doesn't feature a low-light chapter due to the limited time the HTC U11 review unit was available to us..I would make sure that every relevant flagship is available at your headquarters full time after it was already released for market. With mid-rangers maybe not given the quantity of them, that makes sense..anyway thanks and cheers.

IMHO these days they ALL have an insane price tag.
A high-end smartphone shouldn't cost more than 500 or 550 euros.
These 700, 800 and 900+ price tags are ridiculous. Or society is in a economic slump yet phone manufacturers are inflating their prices like crazy for their top-dogs.
Sorry but even I, as in tech geek, cannot swallow these prices anymore for machines riddled with insane yet useless features, half baked tech filled with compromises and void of all common sense. For instance were is that simple call-recording that EVERY Nokia smartphone once had, especially when we are driving in our cars and bikes or other places where we are prohibited to handle our phones?
And guys, put some bloody useful buttons on these devices! Some people have a hard time swiping to accept or deny calls!!!

Dear @gsmarena your reviews have been my goto place for unbiased and technically accurate information, but lately i have noticed a trend. Your are posting conclusions that, it would seem, would be pleasing to most people, i.e. you are making popular conclusions that would please most of your readers rather than accurate ones, something i have never known you people far. I am a Xperia user through and through, and through and through i have been disappointed by their camera quality in comparison to the competition when i read your comparisons, but never for once have i ever been disappointed in your reviews and comparisons. And we understand that you may want to avoid flame wars, but most of your readers are highly educated and they want the higher standards from you that we have known you for
