Sony Ericsson K850 vs. Nokia N95: 5 megapixel shootout

costumers are not satisfied with only one feature of the phone, many of them wants all in one device, nokia N95 has a WiFi, With GPS function and an internal memory of 160mb, while K850 focusing only on the camera resolution. Be practical men....

Yes Nokia might be Top Ranked in Asia ..becuase ppl in Asia buy Nokia for *Status* and Symbian ...
Sony Ericsson here in UK are selling like Hot Cake's ..and nothing ever Goes Wrong with themm..so they Never get Returned
N95 in UK has been the Most RETURNED phone of 2007 ..becuase of its Buggy Firmware
Sony Ericsson are still the Best :P

Dude, I used to have a N73 Music Edition, my uncle has N95 and my Dad has Samsung U-600. I am not bringing the U-600 into this. Before U-600, my dad used to have W950, the only drawback it had was that it didnt have a camera, but the sound and 4GB was better than any nokia or samsung phone. Now SE has come up with the W960 which is going to be the next bestseller(8GB memory & 3.2MP camera). But my personal favourite phone is the K850 because I am sure SonyEricsson will make it the best camera phone on the market just like the K800. The N95 may have GPS, 3.5G and nothing more than K850, but who wants GPS in a phone (except proffesionals) and 3.5G is not usable in all regions where N95 is sold, So why is everyone buying a phone which is slow, bulky, quality less and has lowest battery life? The K850 will definitely have an improved camera when it is launched next month. Then what uis the N95 good for.
Ahaaaaaaaaaa not so fast that SonyEricsson can win. The latest phone on the block is the N95 8GB with 8GB of space, new battery, bigger screen and no projecting camera lens cover, so SONYERICSSON BEWARE.
And nobody should compare phones like RAZR to these Phones (N95 & K850).

why are u comparing the N series in nokia and to K series in sonyericsson,it sholud be rather the W series in sonyericson,that best overcomes all nokia phones i bet u..well check out the W850,W880,W950,W910,W930 and W950...well i'm enjoying W850 now,its the best in town now and people even envy me with that... and not to forget music make life better,sonyericsson is the best when it come to music,i enjoy playing music with sonyericsson in my loud woofers...what about nokia,they are totlly down..just forget about nokia..SE all the best!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you play 3D java games on your fab SonyEricsons. Good for you, but you quite don't know what you're missing...

I'm no expert with camera cellphones but my gf w880i does take some very nice pics. And for the n95, well, i don't trust nokia anymore since all my nokias had the same problem. The battery burned my connection with the phone itself. Once it burned the simcard as well so I had to buy a new one. My SE phone lasted for 3 years before i broke down. So now it's the time for a new one.
SE k850i looks nice, has 5.0mp camera, long battery life-time, it's all I need. Also it's cheaper then the n95.
Only comparing what i need to compare. SE k850i will be my choise.

The n73,n91 cant beat my w700 sound in quality,and the most interesting games 2d or 3d,like resident evil,tony hawk,medal of honor are in java and doesn't work on nokia .diehard nokia fans doesnt know what they are talking and what they are missing,nokia just a big name,brainwashing people with seductive ads,with more useless features than useful and performant ones.trust the swedish/japanese team and this untrust review which doesn't mean and doesn't proof nothing , won't prevent the K850 from being another big BEST SELLER .to kultissim

nokia product is top rank on asia, what u mean the price is down and nobody buy.
sony cant produce great mobile this is why they join ericsson. that's the truth.
nokia is not start at 1995, it start from beginnig on 1960's. where the heck you read those article?they guide u the wrong site man

without camera function, nokia still priority on other features. thats why people support nokia

meanwhile i think SE is not own particular by sony. i read wiki article SE is hold by company of england and sweden.
if SE fans think the lastest firmware of k850 able to improve the camera quality or other function, then please stay waiting....because i dont think so

yea, SE have xenon, nokia contain LED, but still nokia wins. dont you think that's a shame for SE? If both phone are not setup any camera function, i think nokia will step on SE head until the deep bottom.

I think we miss the big trouble of all phone cameras including N95: no Xenon Flash, only LED. When we want to take pictures at night, the N95 will not reach an acceptable quality. However, the K850 can be used as a real camera, not as good as a 6 or 7 MPX Cybershot, but it's very useful. When we have enough sunlight, any mobile can take amazing pictures!!!

without video camera.k850 one points upper than n95 and firmware of k850 is only beta version and i`m sure that in full versian quality of photos will better.

Nokia Prices are going Down bcoz nobody buys them !!!!!
and when they do...they most likely get Returned bcoz of the Bad firmware
SE is the Opposite they Hold Value and Resale you dont loose a Penny and theres never anything that goes wrong with them so they NEVER get returned Because there Stable !!
and Nokia employ Carl Zeiss to Make their Lenses why becuase Nokia cannont do it themselves ! and even all Nokia Betteries are Made in Japan why becuase Nokia cant Make them thereselves !.....and then they call themselves the worlds best Mobile phone company How ? if they dont make anything themselves...thats Nokia.
this is why Sony Ericsson is Better Sony Make the electronics Ericsson do all the Networking Simple isnt it !

As it was mentioned, you are talking about resolution, not actual physical size.
In N95 size of imager is bigger, and K850 will not be able to match its quality. If you look at digi cams, those with biger sensor always have better picture quality (and are pricier too), this is also true with camcorders..

This was rahter surprising... It's no secret that the Walkman range has been raped and ruined by Samsung's music centric models and Nokia's XpreeMusic-series (price/functions/quality ratio), but this still came as a surprise. Naturally we will wait for the final fw of the K850, but I think by then Nokia has announced it's N82 which will aswell be far superior.
It seems like SE has lost it's touch... The brandnames simply aren't enough anymore. People appreciate quality aswell.

You're listing pixel count, not sensor size here. N95 and K850 do have the same number of pixels, if you think about it.
