Meizu Pro 7 Plus review: Two-Face

05 September 2017
Meizu is back with a bang! After the flagship-grade Pro 5, the company released a rather unimpressive Pro 6, and later on, an improved Pro 6 Plus. Just when we thought Meizu might be out of ideas, the Chinese are ready to wow us with the Meizu Pro 7 Plus: a dual-AMOLED dual-camera flagship that could innovate how we see notifications and how we take selfies.

i was expecting a 100h endurance but sadly meizu ruined it this time. pro6plus is a much better alternative. secondary screen is useless.

I don't play games on mobile phone. This phone suits my need very well.

As expected can't trust Mediatek SOC's for their battery endurance & RAW GPU power.

It seems in stills the image-staking algorithm produces great results, but video is left on its own. Can I conclude then that this phone's camera hardware is just average?
Smallish sensor, lack of OIS, not so wide aperture....

Good phone with mediocre battery. I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the X30 version. Love that the screen is SAMOLED, although 1080p is more sensible and battery friendly.

I use an MX5 as one of my 3 phones and I can vouch for the smoothness in operation compared to the likes of Xiaomi. I have a Redmi Note 3 pro (SD 650) as well and it stutters all over the place compared to the Mx5, even with a much superior SOC.

10 core CPU, 8 of them are power efficient ones, made on 10nm power efficient process, and have 3500mah battery. Still sub-par battery life. Welcome to mediatek.
And BTW those 10 cores can't beat already a year old 4core CPU. Great job mediatek.

Baduday, 06 Sep 2017Isn't there a pro 7 (not plus) with X30 chip? Nope. MEIZU PRO 7 is powered by HELIO P25 instead of HELIO X30, paired up with 4GB RAM instead of 6GB

I have an Meizu MX5. It's very well made and was a bargain. Just don't expect Android updates from Meizu. My MX5 shipped with Lollipop 5.1 and it will forever stay with 5.1. If you buy a Pro 7, expect to live with Nougat.

Seems like the audio chip is quite good for headphone-usage too, this is how it should be with every single phone out there.
