I think the major disappointment for me would be that there is no Wi-Fi...but then again, Wi-Fi is usually found on smartphones or pda's nowadays anyways =P i guess it's just a nice to have

        you're welcome ;)
hope it will work for you. i'll be surprise if you experience any problems in a place like NY.
Me, even if i already know that the viewty is gonna be my next phone, i'm more worried about the LG batterie and software. But it seems like LG did a HUGE work on those points (from what i read different reviews).
But i know it wont stop me. This phone is just what i hope and wait since a long time!

Thanks for the info. I think I take my chance and get the viewty. I really want one. I live in New York.

in some rare places, when people had bad reception, i had no reception at all.
in SF it was fine because there weren't many places like that.
i would say that 99% of the time i experienced no problem with it (and i went through nebraska, wyoming, utah, and nevada too, but really quickly).
            ;)

What kind of problems did you have with your tri-band sony phone in California?

Then Let's try looking at the 3rd sample picture at the leaves of a three on the right side of the image. LG's pictures are somewhat overprocessed overcompressed and oversaturated too, by judging the bluriness of the leaves of the tree and the overexposed yellow portion of the slide on the 3rd picture on both sides of the image frame. just like what post-processing N95 did.

Like I've said b4, this set is awesome. But there r couple of this which bothered me. Does it have Zip? Are we able 2 create our own personal files? Is there MSN, PTT n stuffs? I am sure there is Flash which is cool. Yeah?

hey, first thanks gsm arena for this wonderful review.
second, for those from usa who are worried about triband, i'm from france and just spent an entire year in CA with a Sony ericsson W800 (Tribande (900-1800-1900 Mhz)) and it was working fine for me(i didn't say perfectly, but i also never had the opportunity to compare with a quad-band)
May be i got lucky ;)
Anyway, i'm definitly going for this "viewtyful" phone to succeed to my old SE (which unfortunatelly doesn't know how to swim, laughing)

It sure is getting lots of attention. But why no quad band? LG needs to take some cues from Nokia and Sony.

Ki - I have not seen a retailer carrying this phone in Canada yet. However, my guess is Bongowireless.ca will soon. I go to them to get my unlocked phones as they back them up with a warranty.

Thanks for the heads up on your use with tri-band.

in the K790/K800/K810/K850 specs says xenon flash... on viewty specs says only strobe flash

I live in Canada too and intend on buying one of these when it's released. I currently use a Sony Ericsson W700, which is triband.. and it's reception works fine (minus some places in my house). My sister uses an LG Chocolate which is also triband, and that works just fine. I don't think you should let the fact that this phone is triband turn u off it!!

O yea, and where do u intend on buying it from? I'm looking for potential stores and sellers.

                                      Thanks
