LG Q6 review

30 December 2017
LG went all-in with the 18:9 display aspect ratio this year for its flagships - both the G6 and the V30 employ this spec that’s become incredibly trendy in 2017. The tall screens have only recently started to make their way to mid-rangers, though, and on that front LG was among the first to deliver, with the Q6.

Whatever tool you use to judge contrast ratio is broken. Stop using it. This is a budger screen, will never have higher contrast ratio than a large number of more expensive panels.

Don't judge this one by it's cover. It "looks" nice. But when you get down to it, too many corners are cut without enough of a price drop. Much of it could be forgiven and ignored if this phone was at least $75 less. You can pickup up a MUCH better refurb G6 for a few $$$ more. Or save a few on the Honor 7x / Mate SE or some of the similarly priced Motorola models. Either way you go they're better phones for a similar price.

            Overall: Dont Buy.

            1. Looks : Awesome.
            2. Feels : Awesome.
            3. Performance: Poor.
            4. Phone keeps heating all the time.
            5. Battry life is as bad as early Android smart phones.
            6. Back cover will get scratches within first few hours of your purchase. It will look very old from behind within a few days on casual use as back cover is opposite of scratch resistent. More like, scratch magnet.

It just looks too good. But rest is all a bad performer.

I'm actually waiting for the sequel to this phone.
                LG Q7/ LG Q6 2018 / LG G7 Beat (G7 mini) *or whatever they're gonna call it*

LG has stated that they will not release yearly, which is a good sign that LG will make the mini version of their phone without removing hardware features that are used by everyday consumers; ie., Fingerprint Security, etc..

LG will probably put Fingerprint Sensor and Notification light (or even IR Blaster) on that phone, now that LG has heard the customers' feedback about it.

I had this phone for 1 month. This is very nice device, and you will be happy with it for standard everyday usage.
No problems with phone calls, good WiFi, nice big and high quality screen, browsers and basic games work very good.
But there is one large problem, the screen glass is installed exactly on the level of aluminium frame, my phone fall from 1m on the pavement and the screen shattered. It is funny to watch youtube test for Q6 screen strength.
So conclusion: if you are not going to leave your car, office, home it is phone for you.
But don't use this in the outside world.

Another cheap shot with cheap results. Disappointing from lg once again.

The phone I'm using right now to reply to you has a SD410 inside and it's running fine. You can say it is a bad SoC, but doesn't mean nobody should buy a phone with it.
This SoC isn't super powerful, but it is very efficient because of that. Paired with 5000mAh battery, this phone has a 121h Endurance Rating here in GSMArena.

                                    Simple advice.
Don't buy any device that has an sd4 series chip, their all rubbish, some are just less awful than others..
Die size makes no difference, even if someone did an 8nm version,it would still be awful, the only sd series that even with loads of ram to use, gets no better !!!
The Q6+ wil be no better than the Qa..
Buy something with an sd6 or mediatek equiv..
My old HTC hd2 with the original first gen 1ghz single core series sd chip/678mb ram is faster than many sd4 devices !!

This could have been a very nice phone if not for LG's stupid decision to save like $5 by using a leftover old 28nm chipset which ruins its battery life.
