Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ hands-on review

25 February 2018
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are here, official, unwrapped, and we go in full hands-on mode. We might be sending off another UNPACKED event preceded by weeks of overwhelming leaks, but we are surely heading towards a new chapter in the smartphone photography.

AnonD-243573, 25 Feb 2018The only new exciting feature presented here is: home scree... moreNothing to do with Sony.
              - It has variable aperture
              - it has OIS
              - it has dual pixel AF
              - it has 4-frame stacking noise reduction
              - automatically detects when it has to shoot slo-mo
Sony has none of that. As for the rest, it's an improvement. Stereo speakers, better fp sensor position, the rest didn't change and it didn't have to.
2 years is OK for the same design, but they will have to change it next year. This is just an evolution.

                XZ2c 960fps 1080p.

If someone will buy this... just buy the Note8
It’s just an S8 with 960fps video camera.
With the Note8 you can get the same user experience with this.

Now I understand the word 'reimagined' from the S9 camera ad....means that they took the imagination from sony xperia last year and...reimagined it? (improve slow-mo).

"Just like the Xperias, the new Galaxies can do 0.2s of slow-mo capturing at 960 fps. But Samsung has lowered the time between those captures down to 2 seconds. Between those timeouts the camera continues to shoot at 30fps. That's the first improvement."

Umm, the Sony models do that too, ya know. Just tested that with my XZ Premium

The only new exciting feature presented here is: home screen in landscape mode. Everything else was already seen last year. Camera is last year Sony camera from xperia. Emojis were presented with Apple X, self learning algorithms with Huawei mate 10. No innovations from Samsung this year...
