I will skip this model. But if the next was worse than this model I would hand down for Sony and not going to buy it again.

I did not suggest or mention at all that they were behind in terms of battery tech compared to Samsung.

Yes Sony continue to improve their camera, but they also continue to lag behind the best of the competition. This is the only area in which this is the case, and it is the only area that has had the least amount of attention paid by Sony themselves.

Literally every component or design feature has been altered in the XZ2 when compared to the XZ1, except the camera which is the same imx400, behind the same glass. Only some modifications and ‘improvements’ to the image processing have been made.

Actually it's the 'if you don't think Sony are the best at everything, then say nothing at all' board.
I mean you actually are dealing with people who genuinely think that only smart people love Sony and every one else is a paid troll, let that sink in for a sec......
In any event it seems this will be a repeat of every other year where the Sony lot swear blind that the current Xperia is the best at everything, with the best camera and blah blah blah....
And another year where the consensus of opinion by those who actually know what they are talking about rule that yet again Sony is 'so close, so very close....and yet so far' with their current offering.
Personally, I think Sony have tried to fix everything about the Xperia XZ line except the one thing that actually needed fixing at this point....the camera!

Not a fan of the new design... it now looks like every other phone on the market (and very 'cheap plastic' from the back)... I used to get Sony phones for the unique design and features, but there is no point in getting this.

Nah... I'm waiting for the xz2 premium because I have the xz premium a fhd screen looks like a downgrade and I think it's a lot smaller.

I know sony can do it better... moreFor those who still dont understand, sony camera division is separate company named sony semiconductor and solution, its not under sony mobile. So, if sony makes profit from selling camera sensors, its sony semiconductor who makes profit, not sony mobile. So if it makes great camera sensors, its sony semiconductor that has innovation.
Sony semiconductor provide/sells their BEST sensor for sony mobile exclusively, sells its older sensors to almost all smartphone vendors. So, sony mobile gets the best sensors but they dont do anything, while othets get older sensors, but they modify it, make it bigger apperture, dual set up, add ois, and make better software. Now you guess yourself why with the best sensors their camera never the best..
