Oppo F5 long-term review

F5 refreshes the page in the web browser on your computer. So what’s the Oppo F5, then? Is it a refresh of sorts, too? Or maybe it’s a refreshing mid-range smartphone that’s trying to look like it’s more expensive than it actually is. Refreshing, but not niggle-free. Pretty, but not without its faults. Good in most areas, frustrating in others.

    Anyone here knows how to so some changes in the camera settings? It seems that I cant find the right stuff in the settings such as adjusting the camera to where it would reduced the quality to lower its quality for storage purposes

It comes at around 200, has an awesome 2k panel, small bezels, decent processor (I think it was a helio chip) and decent cameras. There are plenty of reviews about it on YouTube (unbox therapy, MrWhoseTheBoss, etc) to show its authenticity

        Long term reviews always show the "real" phone when it's used as a daily driver.

              Okay, so I was long and about, thinking of my next phone, and it's between the Huawei Mate 10 Lite/Nova 2i/Honor 9i (whatever you call it) and this. Vivo V7 Plus is out of the question due to miserable 720p+ display and SD450 SoC.

              I was leaning towards the Mate 10 Lite due to the fact that I trust Huawei more than Oppo, but after I've seen my friend who own it play my favorite game, Rules of Survival, it was very laggy even on the lowest graphical settings. And that's to hope the Oppo F5 will perform better.
              Since this review has made mention of the real way it performs in reality, I've decided to skip both and look elsewhere.

              Right now I'm looking at the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, as SD636 seem to be better than SD630 and SD625 in terms of GPU, but I'm leaning more on good old flagships or even some capable old high class mid range devices.
              I also want the Sony Xperia X as the SD650 is far superior to any of the devices I've mentioned in the GPU performance, and that I don't mind the large bezels, but the thing is, I worry about the future. For one, it will no longer support future updates (Oreo is the last for it), and another is the old 16:9 ratio. When many phones start having 18:9 screens, contents in the future might be made in the new standard, while old ones might be upconverted to the new as well, making this phone's screen ratio irrelevant.

              So what do you think?
              My only budget is at $250 max (yeah I'm poor and broke af) and I don't mind everything as long as the phone itself works as easy and as good as it should, but mostly have great gaming performance because I want to play ROS on smartphone as my iPad Air 2 is very big and heavy, making it hard to play the game sometimes.

              But more specifically, here are my main requirements:
              -at least 64GB internal storage (also with SD Card expandability)
              -great GPU performance that can easily play ROS even in max or just balance
              -decent to good battery life
              -loud and good clarity of headphone jack (my Zenfone Max has very low headphone jack volume)
              -if possible, has the new 18:9 screen ratio to avoid being outdated easily
              -would get at least one major update

              Any suggestion is appreciated. Sorry for a very long message but thanks for who will respond.

                          GSM Team, This is an excellent article. Not just this one, but the other long-term reviews as well. Can you please publish MANY more long-term reviews as well? As a start, can you please do long-term review of at-least ONE phone from each OEM? That way, we can understand what to expect out of the "software" in those phones which does not change significantly between phones with different price points from same OEM.

                            December 2017 security patch and its already April now, even the J7 prime and Xiaomi got 2018 patch now. Sad reality for midrange indeed.

                              Well, this sums up the whole thing; buying their highest end flagship smartphone wouldn't improve multitasking, only performance, that's disappointing. ColorOS likes to kill apps in the background like a psychopath, so why add that overkill amount of 6GB RAM? Pure stupidity? For show? Yeah definitely is for show, to impress the low-end and mid-end buyers to show how "overkill" it is, and it is meant to embarrass the user too when comparing to other smartphones in terms of multitasking
                              Friend 1: Look! Look! I got OPPO's best smartphone with overkill amount of memory! More than your crappy high-end GALAXY S8 with ONLY 4GB RAM, hahahahaha!
                              Friend 2: Shall we try the multitasking performance?

                              *Loaded 5 similar apps on both phones*
                              *1st app**OPPO reloaded, the latter does not*

                                I just hate oppo and vivo...mostly they are similar...low resolutin screens...less than average chipsets and and that creepy software.All they do is to brag about their selfie camera...
