J6 is better phone, have way better battery life (due to 14nm proc), better Super Amoled screen, and probbably better camera. For that price, 116, 130 euros, J6 is good phone. Problem is J6 here in EU is priced for some rason, more than 200 euros, and for that price there are like 10 better phones to chose from, even similar priced (10 euros difference) a6 is better because of metal unibody build.. Anyway, this 3.1 with Mediatek processor, and because of that week battery life (see endurance rating here) is not worth in my opinion, not worth more than 100 euros max. Because Huawei have better phones in that price range, Xiaomi also. And most of those phones supports treble (and comes with 8.0 or 8.1 preinstalled) so Stock Android is not a problem.. If X6 (6 Plus) is priced for 170-200 euros, that phone is way better, than this 3.1. But i think that will be more, maybe close to 260 euros, and in that price range Mi 8 SE is way better than x6 etc.. Today you can't buy good smartphone for chip price here in EU, maybe some Xiaomi like 5 Plus, Note 5 Al or something like that, bit rhats it :/

Even 4500 baht is too much for a phone that comes with a 28nm/1.5/1.0 GHz chip vs. J6's efficient 14nm/1.6 GHz chip. Really disappointing. It should not be more than 4000.
You made the right choice. The only thing missing is Android One but it's not worth picking a 3.1 just for that when the competing phone has better specs.

I bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy J6 (J600G black) with 32 gig of storage in Bangkok at an AIS shop (AIS is one of the major mobile service providers in Thailand) for 4490 baht (approx. 116 euros). Admittedly, this included a small discount, but the list price (from the receipt) with 7% VAT added is still only 4990 baht or 128 euros.
As I said in my previous post, comparing specs, the J6 matches or beats the Nokia 3.1 in seemingly every area.

HMD is playing it safe. They reduced stereo speaker, yet upgrade soc, usb c, qc3.0 on 6.1, and still the same camera. They reduce the bezels, yet still with 16:9. So they can offer something in 6.2, a stereo speaker and better camera, complete with new tall screen. With slightly better soc, the 636.
The new 3.2 and 5.2 will be using a much more powerful soc next year. SD450 and SD630, maybe. And they will reduce the bezel, yet keep the screen the same, camera, everything will be the same. But usb c will be there.
I see the pattern. HMD wont upgrade all aspects at once. They upgrade one area, while keeping every other thing the same. So in next year, HMD can upgrade those other things while keeping the previously upgraded things the same.

In comparison, the 3.1 sells for 170 EUR in most of Europe.
Also, for how long do you get OS updates on the J6, and how long do you get security updates? With Nokia phones you get either 2+1 or 2+2 years, which is a very good deal.

if there is no discount for old phone part exchange or MSRP prices in local operator shops then no thank you.
I already cannot pay monthly for the greedy phone number. i wheely hate how much money i haw been waisted for these shit phones in past 10 years. and how quickly their price, phone value drops.

Though the review seems disappointing.. Nokia will manage to sell this Nokia 3.1 by the millions.. People will be convinced to buy as soon as they hold and touch the phone.. The slim and easy to grip, the handsome side profile, the Nokia brand and built quality and the relatively low price is enough to entice the buyer.. Most of the people who buy phones do not read the review.. The directly go to the shop and check out the phones in their hands.. Those few who read the review like us won't settle for an entry level phone anyway..

I've had the dual sim version running now for a few days and my verdict is... it's OK. It's not got anything in terms of spec that'll blow you away especially for the price point but it works fine for me, unlike the review I haven't had the OS freeze for anything though I don't play a lot of games on my phone nor have I noticed any lag. I did read some preliminary reviews about the specs being underwhelming for the price but overall it looked ok and the main thing that Nokia sold me on this phone was it's size. Aside from the Sony Xperia Compact series it's almost impossible to get an Android phone that is less than 70mm wide which you can operate one handed (or at least my one hand) that packs any sort of punch without costing an arm & a leg - you either have to go towards the high end with Xperia or the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S series, or down at the bottom end of the price range for handsets that a underpowered lacking memory, low quality camera etc. The Xiaomi Mi A1 in terms of all technical specs beats the Nokia 3.1 hands down - but the body width is 7mm wider and that might not sound much but you definitely notice the difference handling it. And frankly I don't want either a handset that needs to hands to operate or a phablet bulge in my pocket. Nokia had an opportunity here to find a spot in the mid-range Android handset market of a slim-ish handset to hold that would satisfy a lot of people and they haven't quite hit it here but there is potential in a future handset in this lineage (3.2 in 2019?) where if they can give it a significant power upgrade along with something like fast/wireless charging, USB-C etc. and get it priced €200 or less they could have a winner. As it is I see O2 in the UK are currently selling it for pre-paid for £99 which isn't bad at that price. One more thing, with the dual sim version there are two separate sim slots and a dedicated MicroSD card slot, no hybrids here. Also if one sim card is on 4G, the other can be on either 2G or 3G at the same time, so it's useful for dual sim use in places where 2G networks have been switched off like Singapore or Australia.

I am not sure if Nokia likes to mock at its own fans worldwide by making underwhelming phones like these. Other than 7 plus and 8, most of the phones could have been avoided or made better.
More sensible phones like X6 are for china and rest of the world gets 3.1 [2/16]. As if rest of the world has to fund nokia to give better phones to china at reasonable prices !
