1- an upgrade is usually more costly
2- some people like to store everything: 4k vids, high-res images, every whatsapp video received...etc this builds up quickly without any means to upgrade. (A huge SD has a limit as well, but still..)
3- some leave the non-expandable internal memory with less than 1% free space which means it would wear out quickly, I've seen phones break after a year of such usage. While the SD can be easily replaced, and file recovery (partial or complete) in certain cases is possible.
4- not all people can/want to use cloud storage.

With an SD card, I can have a bigger xxx collection on my phone, if I want to, than any internal storage a phone can come with. Happy with the answer?

What if the phone's motherboard get f*ck*d up? An ejector pin and everything is safe inside the SD Card
Not implying that such event will happen, but accidents still occur, and better be safe than sorry

It's 2018 bro not 2012. There are tons of storage inside our phones, way from 32 gig to 256 gig, even 512 gig. What are you gonna do with that much storage, archiving a xxx collection???

The review is fairly good, but overlooks a couple of things in its comparison in that consumers have different wants/situations.
I have just bought a Nova 3 and am very happy with it.
I looked hard at the OnePlus 6, but dismissed it immediately as it has no memory card slot. (I live in China and the OnePlus can't be bought on my high street. Online, the cheapest price is 700RMB more than I paid for the Nova 3, and with questionable warranty conditions, so more reasons to eliminate it ...).
Why more consumers don't prioritise having a memory card slot, I don't know, but it's high on my list and that took care of all the competition except the Nokia 7plus ... which is a little bit cheaper than my Nova 3, a whole lot uglier, a little bit bigger with a smaller screen and the main eliminators, inferior chip, 64/4 GB memory compared to my 128/6.
Trust me for my wants/situation, this really was the one ... and the battery's performance is truly special, which after a couple of days of ownership has only reinforced my choice as being the perfect one for me.

Could have thought of other competitors as well. I bet Nova 3 will cost in some countries up to 200 Euro cheaper than OnePlus 6.

This review is definitely lacking. Where are the audio impressions? How can we know if the audio in this device is good? How about battery performance?

I don't get it, why GSMarena posted a half-baked review? No endurance rating? No audio quality test? I'll take this review if its a pre-production model they are using but there is no mention about that (correct me if i'm wrong)?

Benchmark score and low light shots are forgivable as they might be similar to Honor 10 which is exactly the same but endurance and selfie should in there
