HTC U12 life hands-on review

31 August 2018
The U12 Life, which is HTC's fancy way of denoting its lite devices, lives up to its name. It is a solid mid-ranger, equipped just well enough to go against some current popular competitors from the likes of Xiaomi or Nokia.

It' s good looking device with reasnoble specs. But price is too high 330 €. For almost half price 170 €, you can buy Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 AI with almost identycal hardware. Not so fancy in design, but c'mon 160€ is a huge cut.

What is this it looks bloody awful similar to Pixel

The Pocophone has got the SD845, and the slew of Android features (3.5mm jack, microSD, etc.) but it has a notch.
This phone has almost stock Android, a decent looking design, splash-proofing, and no notch.
So basically, if you don't need to do anything super demanding, I think this is the better choice

For me, this is a definite midrange consideration. I don't like glass back phones because they are too fragile. I like plastic and metal backs for my phone. It has enough bezel to prevent from ghosting. It has no notch, a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, microSD card expandability...Sense has trimmed some of the fat that other reviewers discussed. The pricing is gonna be tough for some at 299 pounds in a Poco F1 world (which hello, also uses plastic) but for those of us who can't get a Poco F1 or a Mi Max 3, this might be the next best thing. I'm in the U.S. where the only choices for phones I have are Samsung and Apple. I don't care for either of them.

And if I could get one of those devices, it would be the Mi Max 3 because of its metal back, big screen, lack of a notch and inclusion of a headphone jack. Plus, I hear it is rootable so I can ROOT, get rid of Xiaomi's bloatware and give it a stock like feel or just flash a GSI ROM.

_Performante_, 31 Aug 2018r.i.p htc!No. If Sony can make a comeback, then HTC can too. This phone is a step in the right direction. Hopefully their flagship next year will be better too. Maybe they should take notes from Sony and go with a Amoled panel too. Maybe bring back the headphone jack to attract even more customers.
