I have been using this phone for 4 years. No gaming - mainly for business and to upload images to my shop, etc. I can say that in 2023 it still performs amazingly. No lag at all and charges quickly with a Huawei 9V charger. The screen got detached over time so I glued it back in place with Hypo Cement. Its only fault is the camera. The colours are represented quite well in the latest updates with AI turned off but pictures all look somehow zoomed in since the camera does not have a proper wide angle configuration. It is still great for taking selfies and portraits or pictures of food. The camera is also terribly bad for Macros so it is not possible to take any proper close ups of small items. Other than that, it is a good phone.

foconauta, 21 Nov 2018What do you guys wolud prefer? this are my options and came... moreMate 20 has poor camera.Moto is a no buy at any standards.iPhone 7 and Huawei P10 are amazing.But for price,P10 is around 280$ and iPhone 7 is still rocking 500$ mark.If you find ip7 for a cheap price i would definetly go for it.Otherwise P10 makes amazing (bit whitened photos) for it's current price.

Huawei honor play/Poco phone are 350 euroes.This phone as well.Way worse chipset and worse camera.Not even a metal unibody for heat dispersion or heat sink/water cooling.Total failure price for a mid ranger.

Why is are the daylight pictures took so washed up, low contrast, blotchy and full of artifacts?! They're worse than on Pocophone F1 and most other phones, a lot worse than on old 16mpx f.2.2 Huawei cameras too. Just look at the bird in the comparison tool or the building with the blue roof in samples, all phones destroy the Mate 20 in this regard. How is this supposed to be an upgrade?! Worse chipset than Honor Play, worse camera. Too bad the Play isn't available in my country. I don't like the Pocophone because of the very large notch. I'm not sure it can even display the battery percentage, there's basically 2 little corners for a notification bar. I hoped the Mate 20 would be good, but the camera seems to be a disaster.

It may be a good phone, but blue? Seriously? Why not bring it out in either green, white or even gold?

The worst cell I have from the first day I I bought the phone didn't up date the many apps don't work with the phone for example WhatsApp Viber and much Moor i don't recommend to no one

Price is really high but lack of 4k recording doesn't needed at all for mobile devices. No one I personally know never use this resolution for video. Never. Ever. Waste of space and lower quality (eis works worse on 4k).

Lets be honest this Mate 20 lite pricing is bad. But out of the 4 phones u mentioned, only OP 5t is eligible. Htc U11? Outdated bezels design with average battery life & lack future updates. Galaxy S8? It maybe performs very well on performance & camera but the battery life is not up to the mark. In lab test it performs average, but in real life it cant even last for a day. Note 8? Absolutely the best yet, but u can have the same price as this Mate 20 lite? I doubt it. It still very expensive in my country.
As for me, i'll take the newer phones such as Honor Play or Poco F1 for a cheaper price and future proof.
