Anonymous, 26 Sep 2018The review highlights the many things iphones can do very w... moreWe have to agree on disagreeing😊
I have been using my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for 5 years now. Waited every single year for Samsung to come up with something better more innovative. That never truly came. My Note 3 was a flagship at time it came out, pricing the same as the IPhone 5s was.
I still cannot get over the fact that I spent the same amount of money on the Note3 as the IPhone 5s cost that time, but 5 years later the iPhone 5s is running on the latest IOS and my Note 3 had only a single cycle of OS update.
This is a huge fact that nobody seems to be grasping at. 5 years of OS updates versus 1. Just red an article couple of days ago, that the Samsung S7 reached the end of its life cycle and will not get any updates anymore. Not to forget the Samsung S7 was also not cheap when it came out.
I always read how restrictive IOS is etc and how customisable Android is. Which is also not quite true. I have apps on my 5 year old phone I have never used but cannot get rid off as they came preinstalled. Aside from the stock android most versions come with a skin and a ton of bloat ware. I find this highly anoying.
I did consider myself an android fan, hence still using my old phone, but the above made me reconside things.
Honstley I find Apple's pricing strategy disgustingly agressive and overpriced, therefore I'm still indecisive wich phone to go for the X or XS.

Duel83, 26 Sep 2018Huawei was actually very wrong https://youtu.be/T4HdURgi_5MI bought the iPhone Xs max and the battery life does not impress me. I use my phone mainly for web browsing and my redmi note 4 lasts 40% longer than the iPhone.

"The whole Android market just copied Apple's notched approach and now the scene is overwhelmed with such phones."
And they 1st started to copy bezzless design from Xiaomi Mi Mix ;)

Someone on weibo says it Xr and Xs will earn 100 and 104 points for camera.
XZ2p, Mate 20, Pixel 3 and Mate 20 Pro would be above with 105, 107, 107 and 116.

The review highlights the many things iphones can do very well, which android phones can do the same or differently, and actually do even better. What the review doesn't reveal is just how limited, restrictive, convoluted and jurassic iOS is, compared to android as regards simple customizations/personalization, file transfers, screen share, true multitasking and split screen, etc. I beg to disagree with gsmarena. You're buying an iPhone for the prestige and personal image, first and foremost - not for its smartphone functionality or user experience because its truly a horrible locked prison user experience. That's essentially what the iPhone is unless all you do on iphones is take photos for Facebook, watch YouTube, play Candy Crush, and call and text. If those are the only things you do, then certainly, you won't see just how inutile is the user experience is in iOS. Again, I beg to disagree with gsmarena. You're not paying for the user experience. You're paying for the prestige more than what the phone truly capable of. And what it's capable of is a far cry from what android can do.

And thats that, apple it´s the best because GSM Arena says so.....Forget about the 73 endurance batery life, or the poor charging time (because of the poor charger included)
i can agree on one thing, people buy apple because of brand and the UI experience, true to that.

Yasser, 26 Sep 2018Just 74 hours battery endurance rating? No, thanks. I don't... moreYou might re-think that, both of new iPhones have excellent battery life

The review does not say what the iOS version was on the iPhone X used in the camera comparisons. Was it still at iOS 11 or upgraded to match the XS?

"The fluidness and the problem-free iOS, which doesn't require regular cleaning of caches and app data, installing various Play services updates or cleaning spam bloatware - it adds definite value to the user experience." - You are just echoing what Apple says: It just works. No, sorry, at times, it doesn't. Fluidity? Looks like you have never used an Android flagship in recent years, at least, the ones from Samsung, Sony. Regular cleaning is not required in recent Android OSs. Installation of services and updates is also part of iOS, Android just does it more frequently which is a good thing for fixing bugs and getting better features. And, the most hilarious statement: Cleaning spam bloatware. In Android, bloatware exists, but you can't clean them unless you root, and there is no spam; you can install and uninstall whatever you like, mostly free of cost (iOS charges for many common apps). In iOS, if I consider an app pre-installed by Apple to be bloatware, I can't clean either. Lastly, after using both iOS and Android my user experience is superior in Android even without rooting.

Portrait mode depth is extremely unrealistic. Gsmarena, why do you ignore that?
