Apple iPhone XS Max vs. Samsung Galaxy Note9

At a time when LG is pushing the boundaries and installing all sorts of cameras in the V40 ThinQ (the ultra-wide/normal/tele trifecta we've all been waiting for), Apple and Samsung are taking a conservative approach and perfecting their dual camera game.

Why not P20 Pro, Xz2 Premium and U12+? All them do better.

    Martin, 15 Oct 2018LG V40 destroy both!! LG is done, dude. This is coming from a once diehard LG fan. I'm already thinking about selling BOTH my G5 and V20 to get the Pixel 3. I hate Apple's philosophy and don't love using iOS but at least iPhones are more reliable and last longer. I have three OEM batteries for my G5 and two for my V20. Same. No difference in longevity. My G5 still drains after every two minutes and gets noticeably warm streaming videos.

    One thing I hate with iPhone is I can't seem to watch my videos on it whether I label it home videos or movies. I tried using the TV app and it doesn't work most of the time. I tried using other video player apps and they still don't work. I also despise using iTunes for ANYTHING. This isn't 2005 for me anymore. My SE already has 289 full charges according to Coconut Battery. Needs a battery replacement by next month when the price is still only $29.

    That's why I'm willing to sell my G5, V20, and iPhone SE just to buy one Pixel 3. LG just isn't reliable. Apple's closed EGO system just doesn't work for me. The Pixel 3 compliments my Essential very much with the same Android 9 on it. I would never sell my Essential. It slipped from a couch and fell back first on a wooden floor. Zero damage. I would never sell it even after I retire it.

    Reason why I also want the Pixel is the matte glass finish on the back. They might change it up next year with just a plain glass. And the next API level for Android goes directly to Android Q. There might not be Pie 9.1. My Android P experience is perfect as is.

        Great cameras, both of them.

        But why no selfies in low-light (a pretty common scenario)? Is it because one will be superior than the other?

          Pixel 3 / 3 XL beats them both.

          They have a better display and camera than the XS and has the better software experience than Note9.

                  The real and only flagship for todays standard face each other, despite their differences they are both the best imo. I hope GSMA just keep only posting about apple and Samsung battles and dont add 3rd parties oem smartphones with them because Apple vs Samsung battles were classic! Keep up the good work!!!!
