"The display quality isn't flagship-worthy." - actually, IPS screen with single dot + 3,5 jack is why I am going to buy this phone in 2020! It even has 3.1 usb type-C, even despite most newer flagman use 2.0 Sad,they skipped SD card, so I need to hunt for 256 version...

Since I am using this device from February 2019 and I have the Chinese variant of Honor View 20, so i can tell you that with Chinese variants you don't get headphones in the box.
This comes with the box:
Charger, mobile phone itself, Sim ejector tool and a silicon case.

which one has the better main camera? Honor Mate 20 or View 20 for shooting pictures at daytime and some makros?

Everything else has regressed. You shouldn't talk if you never had 808. Detail wise, all nowadays phone cameras are carbage compared to 808. (My 'modern' phones being Lumia 950XL and Sony Xperia XZ3, both way above average cameras.)

With respect to all quality seekers ,GSMArena disclaimer and specifications and review to look fairly , Honor view 20 with complete specifications is the best smartphone of 2018-19.Of course the one with 400 gigabytes external memory for some markets.Unfortunately radio plus RDS recording has been forgotten to preloaded or preinstalled !!Battery is quite enough and no lack of necessary applications....GSMArena is complete and useful and Honor as a sub branch of Huawei has done a great innovation to be the best midrange of 2018-19 !! Happily it has no deception ugliest hybrid quality killer...Reading GSMArena review is more useful for everyone to learn more !Sadly price is high and takes the chance of all having a best midranger with fair price and more attractions !!Good luck those having it and hopefully put their experiences for others to be used !Thanks GSMArena for its helps of fact writing.Justice Rights loves better and the best of all brands....

Just take a look at Nokia Lumia 1020 and Samsung Galaxy K zoom, are there any other smartphones with Xenon flash after that? I don't really think so. As for Nokia 808 PureView, are there any smartphone camera with larger sensor than it except for the Panasonic Lumix CM1? Even the Nokia Lumia 1020 has smaller sensor than 808 for crying out loud!
Now that today's smartphone photography are going into AI direction, it only going to make things worse. AI on smartphone itself is a joke in the first place!

Like, who would compare a modern, Honor V20 to an ancient, Nokia 808? That makes no sense. And what makes even LESS sense than none, is that how come is the Nokia 808 able to take better pictures? Technology has evolved already, so saying that an ancient piece of brick is better at taking pictures than a modern phone, without any evidence, is just unfair.
