Sony Xperia 1, 10 Plus, 10, L3 hands-on review

25 February 2019
Sony's fresh new lineup can be best described as different and exciting. First off, we have the Xperia 1, intended as a continuation of Sony's "Premium" line, rather than the flagship "XZ" one. Then there are the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus, which are shaping up as successors to the popular "XA" lineup. Last and probably least, there is the new Xperia L3 entry-level model.

Goodbuoy, 25 Feb 2019Simple question : why should i even give 1 second of my tho... moreWell because the S10 is an ugly piece of crap with a gigantic massive hole in the middle of the display and with a terrible UI, while the X1 is actually a pretty design, 4K screen and almost stock Android.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2019Moto g7+ is the only midrange with ois ... Samsung, LG, ... moreThat is not true. Lenovo Z5 Pro has OIS, Asus Zenfone 5 has OIS and yes the G7 Plus now has it too, but with worse secondary camera than the Asus Zenfone 5 (wide angle), less usefull too as it's only a depth one (in the G7 Plus), and with worse SoC than the Lenovo Z5 Pro with an SD710. The Lenovo Z5 Pro also has under display fingerprint sensor. The Motorola G7 Plus is more a year old phone in design and specifications, is what the Zenfone 5 was and is with worse secondary camera and lower battery capacity.

And you put it badly about Samsung, Redmi, etc. Is EIS no OIS.......

If Lenovo don't release their good mid-range phones here, at least we will have the new Zenfone 6 at 14 May, witch will be one of the the best mid-range again here if not the best again. And the Zenfone 6z a good alternative in the flagship level. I know very well what i'm looking for. Sadly i had some hopes of a mid-range phone with what i wanted now at MWC. But seems that i'll have to wait until the Zenfone 6 is available. Perhaps with a bit luck something more is released this week at MWC, or not.

As we saw in the teaser of the Zenfone 6 i'll probably come without notch, updated SoC and if they add too under display fingerprint sensor they'll nailed it. Hope they also maintain the stereo speakers, jack, etc, too. I'll have the patience is nothing comparable is relased before here with the B20 LTE band too.

        What with Compact ?
I want a normal phone, not a pan that can not be used comfortably

Of all the camera features that this has (photo and video) I could say that this is one of the best but for the price, I'd rather keep my current phone and just buy a mirrorless camera (Sony A6500 or a6400) because as we all know, this type of phone will have the price near the mirrorless camera.

Sony made a great phone, only to screw up the battery capacity. 3300 mAh & 4K display don't sound good together at all...

That aside though, it looks pretty good. Good to see OIS on a Sony device after all these years.

I dont like this trend in aspect ratio ... what s next? 30:9 rollup? Or? I think smartphone is much more using vertically and watching movies and videos is only benefit of smartphones...

The Xperia 1 seems good for those that want that format, for me is too tall, it'll be a good option after some time and a price drop.

But the bad side are the rest of their phones, NO OIS in their premium mid-ranges? Small batteries for their size and cheap SoC for a premium mid-range? What they were thinking? Those are supposed to bring extra features and quality above the budget phones as Redmi, but are even worse. Now, i'm waiting if Lenovo want to make their Z6 globally available or waiting for the Asus Zenfone 6, sigh. I have no luck.

Wasteak, 25 Feb 20193300 mAh for a 4k 6.5" screen.... And I would love to see ... moreprobably can see the difference now since it is stretched to a 6.5inch display.
