According to wired each sensor is a 19mm² sensor = 1/2.9" type sensor. Though then HMD's statement (10 times more light compared with 1/2.9" + f/1.8 doesn't make sense as each monochrome camera is said to capture 2.9 times as much light)

No offense, but I see this phone as a gimmick. You don't need 5 separate cameras for image binning. The Pixels & most modern phones do it with one camera, and they do it well.
Nokia dropped the ball IMO.

This phone is a limited version, so they will surely release an SD855 flagship at some point.

Erick, 24 Feb 2019The software can't properly use physical separated sensors ... moreDoesn't matter. We are talking about the total amount of captured light. That's exactly what HMD is talking about. So my calculation is correct if the monochrome sensor is a 1/2.9" sensor.

It is interesting that HMD's website doesn't advertise the resulting 60 - 240 megapixel photos although they mentioned this at the presentation. Seems as if they don't believe in their own product...

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2019Gsmarena specs are ofte not correct, they often just guess ... moreThe software can't properly use physical separated sensors as one as you try to show adding them. And their pixels are too tiny. Waiting for the review to show that several sensors can't beat a single good big one. As we already saw in other devices, like the Light cameras. This could be even below the Mi 9...

Nick Tagataka, 24 Feb 2019Where did you get information that those sensors are 1/2.8"?Gsmarena specs are ofte not correct, they often just guess them. HMD has not reveiled the sensor sizes. They say that 5 cameras capture 10 times as much light as a smartphone camera and that each monochrome camera can capture 2.9times as much light as a smartphone with 1/2.9" sensor + f/1.8 light. So if the monochrome sensor is a 1/2.9" sensor as well, then the two RGB color sensors are just 1/3.6" sensors. 10x(1.25²x12)-(3*2.9)x(1.25²x12)= 1.3x(1.25²x12) ==> 1.3/2 = 0.65 => 0.65 x(1.25² x 12) = 12.2 mm² = 1/3.6" sensor

This situation reminds me of 808 PV announcement.
They had been going with Windows route. But 808 was still running on Symbian. The last one to run it.
It was because Nokia had been loooong time ago developing the phone with Symbian OS powering it. Year later, they brought the tech to Windows Phone.
So i hope, maybe a Nokia 10 could bring a latest 5G and SD855, along with edge to edge screen -- although i prefer this notchless design, it is just looking balanced.
One can hope.

Galaxy Note 10, 24 Feb 2019845 !? What's the point!!Ya, what's even the point since this one is only 699 while you can get s10+ for 999, or even Xs Max for 1100.
I mean, 845 is still a flagship grade soc.

A reasonably priced phone with insanely over-the-top 5 camera setup. If the they are just as good as Nokia claims to be, no doubt this is going to be absolutely the best fixed focal length smartphone camera on the market right now. I hope more and more companies will use monochrome sensor for their smartphone cameras in future, it's so underrated.. Now watch out Huawei, Google and Apple, this time Nokia is getting real with the flagship smartphone game.
