People keep on saying phones today got bigger screens than 2016s, no they are not. They just got stretched, longer. This here A70/A80 basically got 5.7" screen stretched to get that 20:9 aspect ratio. Basically a longer Nexus 6P or Note 7.

    >that doesn't have a headphone jack

    Into the trash it goes

Walter C. Dornez, 10 Apr 2019Nah, M series is actually the replacement. A series is more... more...and we need to say Good Bye IP68 or any IP rating to Galaxy A family. I love IP rating although it may not so important todays.

I am so surprising with this rotating camera, honestly I do not think that the mechanism would be like that. And honestly, I do not like any mechanism of phone, any brands, as it can easily broken in any ways.

Jun1250, 10 Apr 2019It's weird if they're gonna call these the J series replace... moreThe A series has been around for a while and has always been pricier than the J series. The M series is what's replaced the J series.

At first I thought I could buy Samsung, although I'm usually against it. But the A80 seemed somewhat better than most phones in the upper range. And then the SD slot omission hit me!
I could live without a 3.5 jack, but to ask people into buying a non-expandable storage is unforgivable!

k0vasz, 10 Apr 2019yeah, but is it really worth it? I mean, software is pretty... moreI don't think it's worth it, especially not if the new phones aren't waterproof

Jun1250, 10 Apr 2019It's weird if they're gonna call these the J series replace... moreNah, M series is actually the replacement. A series is more experimental, and it obviously took some R&D to pull something this difficult off

The price must be competitive to beat OnePlus in certain markets. Work all the gimmics, SD 845 > SD 750. But if this is priced closer to Honor View 20 in my place, then this could be a better deal. If this gets priced above OnePlus 6T then we can't consider this as mid-range hence competition would be on the spec(wireless charging, IP rating, memory expansion, stereo speakers, SD 845 & 855)

itsAokay, 10 Apr 2019You're right, I suppose I'm also complaining because these ... moreyeah, but is it really worth it? I mean, software is pretty top notch already, android Q will only have some gimmicks feature as we know it, etc. software updates are not that important anymore as they used to be, IMHO

Anonymous, 10 Apr 2019Because with this cam system you cannot prevent water from ... moreI know...I meant the A70

Walter C. Dornez, 10 Apr 2019Dammit Samsung. I understand that there was some serious R&... moreIt's weird if they're gonna call these the J series replacement if they've already reached a flagship's price and specs. A80's already more expensive than the most expensive Galaxy J, apparently also the first Galaxy J at 450 EUR (according to Phone Finder > Brand: Samsung > Order: Price)

Also, Samsung Serenata said hi lmao

If the A70 is between the A50's and A80's prices at ~450 EUR then I guess it's ok

But the A80 is a big oof with those omissions, the low battery size to screen size ratio, and that priiice... Let's just say, it needs more stuff for justification. Like a minimum of 256GB ROM (no card slot) or some sorta MIL- STD military rating (build quality) or free Galaxy Buds (no jack) or free fast-charging power bank (low battery cap) or maybe even all of the above

Then yeah, it'll be worth the flagship-like price with some of those extras. Otherwise, everyone's just gonna get those "flagship killers" that haven't much flagship feats other than their shiny SDM855 badges for 200 EUR cheaper
