Smartphone buyer's guide: Mid-2019 edition

Whackcar, 14 Jun 2019I'd say right now is probably not a great time to buy a new... moreNot to mention that it takes a couple months, after a phone is released, for the prices to drop from insanity back to normalcy.
On top of that, it takes that time for developers to get their hands on it, find ways to root the device, and start cooking Custom Roms for it.
And lastly, sometimes the best cases, screen protectors, hubs, accessories, and replacement parts takes some time to come out to the market.

...basically, it pays off to NOT be an early-adopter.

The Red Magic 3 had the SD 855 ...

The best smartphone to me is the one I already have: Google Pixel 3.

        Smaller factor
        Comfortable to hold
        Clean and fluid UI
        Great camera

I will never sway away from the Pixel line. I don't care if it's under spec'd.

The first Pixel made me love stock Android. The Essential Phone made me love Pie. The Pixel 3 is a culmination of those two.

Thanks for the great job you made here guys, need to be apreciated. Reading the full list and review I notice the Sony Xperia 1 doesnt have 4K 60fps! Keep doing the best job I have the app I see the news every time I can, always good news and reviews.

AnonD-763241, 14 Jun 2019Hey wait!!! where is the fastest phone.......iphone xs. ... moreSmart HDR is just same HDR of photos. For better exposure.
            Not 10-bit.
            It is still SDR

They complain that the Redmi 7 doesn't have NFC and yet they didn't complain when Realme X doesn't have one.

This guide is highly subjective ...

Suggesting a phone (Mi 9T Pro) that not announced yet (or China version)
not really reliable and more than questionable :s

I think redmi note 7 pro should be there instead of regular note7
But then again you cannot buy rn7pro most of the time

Glad to see my almost-perfect smartphone still in the guide : Xiaomi Mi Max 3. The only two things that'll make this phone perfect for me are the flagship SoC and Cameras.

I will buy Apple or Nokia only...sorry GSMARENA 😂

Red Magic 3 has the current flagship Qualcomm SoC, the 855, not the 845 as listed in the guide

There are so many smartphones that should have been found here but they are not here such as
*Redmi note 7 Pro , Realme 3 Pro ( available in India and are the best choices under 15K inr + the 3 Pro can be found in UK with great deals )
*Honor 20 series ( affordable flagships with great cameras )
                            *Galaxy A50
*Mi 9T / Redmi K20 ( I know the Mi 9T was relased after mid-2019 but it's very capable and with almost no compromises )
                            *Oppo F11
                            *Vivo Z5x
*Mi 9 SE ( simply the best compact smartphone under 400 Euros )
                            and more...
I know very well that most of these smartphones have quite limited availablity but they are worth buying as they have solid build quality , good cameras , great batteries and more .

                              €350: Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro
Good: Design, price/performance ratio, battery life, fast charging, full-screen AMOLED,
                              Bad: None ??

what about the lack of eis in front camera and in 60p modes?

Last year November "All-Rounder" battle was budget friendly and fierce. What is as all-rounder are expensive, except for Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Realme X

Flagship phones are getting too big, too heavy and too expensive. The things they removed like headphone jacks, additional storage, removable batteries, looks like they are going in the wrong direction.

Redmi K20 pro had a nice presence in all-rounders but considering the recent YouTube comparisons, the battery life of both two variants is awesome. And I'm sure it'll be more praised since there will be real testings. Thanks for the article, though. I had already made up my mind for buying the K20 pro but now I'm definitely sure since it is the best value for price with almost all of the flagship tier equipments like SoC, camera, battery, screen. I mean what else do I want from a phone with such an amazing price!!?
