Dometalican, 29 Apr 2020"OnePlus offers more hardware than LG". ...are you serio... moreLG is not in same league as Samsung anymore. Every year release a phone then 3 months later knock 60% off their price of there phones. They been in the smartphone business as long as Samsung but they always tried new thing but they that never stick with them long enough. At least Oneplus phone are better optimised and you get reliable updates compared to the android competitions.

1080p screen @ 60hz (the 60hz part is more disappointing than the resolution)
No telephoto camera

"Pricing", "[not] flagships", "[not] flagship-killers" - all these are wrong thoughts! The only right thought is "WHY THE HELL CURVED DISPLAY IS STILL THERE?". Again, people of GSMArena, you are supposed to be the SMART ones, who knows why curved displays are trash and who tells about it to your readers and to manufacturers. Why don't you do that?!
Curved displays are objectively absolutely bad - they have no reasons to exist, they distort image and glare on edges, they are either uncomfortable without case or don't let to use "back" and "previous app" gestures with case, they cost more than the same specs flat displays.
Any smartphone with curved display is garbage, period.
Same goes for hole-punch selfie cameras - they look bad [no cutouts > any other option > hole-punch], they leave unused pixels above it, they are unnecessary because too big screen-to-body ratio is unnecessary - it's not a monitor, it's a smartphone that you hold with your hands!

And again they did not focus enough on cameras. It is like legacy. But it's now not flagship killer but a flagship. So no excuse? Well, it is cheaper by 200-400$ yes. But come on Oneplus used to push outside boundaries. Not inside them.

the iphones of android world ant it's not a compliment. A fashionist toy with less and less features. V60 from lg is a true flagship and very complete

Dometalican, 29 Apr 2020"OnePlus offers more hardware than LG".
...are you serio... moreOf only the V60 was (nobody asked for it) as big as the Moon itself, I would go with it. Had so many LGs but this time LG overdone it with too big screen and bezels resulting massive body even in 2020 standarts and heavy as well. I am sorry ;( My oppo find x2 pro (vegan leather) is 200grams (for 6.7" 5g 2020 flagship phone 3 camera (one even heavier periscope) that's nothing) and is almost p40pro (small phone) sized and still has massive 6.7" (and 3k 120hz) screen. Yes smaller battery 4260 but that's not the full story at all.
Loved LG for compactness. They did mistake on V60. Ok do a big screen but cut the bezels for God S***. Now we wait 1 year for V70 until then my x2 pro.

I loved the 7 pro (except the mega poor selfie camera). Now I went for oppo find x2 pro regardless the price premium. This means a lot. 8 Pro is a mess I am sorry.

I don't have a problem oneplus trying to compete with the big boys.. But why did they give up on their mid-range budget fanboys??
Hoping xiaomi don't follow the greed filled Race.

[deleted post]It's more likely that they are biased against OnePlus. The normal Oneplus 8 already has some of the if not the best speakers they've tested so the OnePlus 8 pro most likely surpasses that. They didn't want to include that so they could make the low 4.3 score seem justified. The 8 pro is the best flagship phone in the market right now. The gsmareana team is just hurt that OnePlus betrayed the flagship killer market.

S20+ = $1200
OP8 Pro = $900
You save $300 while getting essentially the same product, with better software experience, and 3 android updates instead of 2. I think it's a pretty good deal.

AnonD-546724, 29 Apr 2020You guys want QHD+ / 120hz / IP68 / IMX689 sensor / 12GB of... moreBut nobody asked for a Qhd at 120hz, 90hz with FHD was enough. Techies wanted that hardware at flagship killer level prices.
Well 1+8 doesn't have proper 3 cameras, waiting for 1+8T is one thing that can be done only.

Dometalican, 29 Apr 2020....did you skip past the cons? Clearly mentions it there. Thanks, yes looks like I did!
Bit of a deal breaker actually, especially at the price point. An AOD these days is an essential feature, at least for me.
