Rest of the phone is still great for the asking price.
You get the fastest phone, great display and 4 years of software support for $399.
Oneplus used to be that phone, but now ask $799 for their base Oneplus 8 model.

I'm sad and feel sorry for Apple. If I were Tim Cook, I would never have allowed such a very dated, low end, ugly looking phone with low quality screen and ugly exterior design bear the iPhone branding and logo.
It kills the prestigious, luxurious iPhone brand image that Steve Jobs have worked very hard for. The iPhone SE 2020 looks like a counterfeit iPhone wannabe.
It's as if Apple is so desperate to attract Android users that it had to make heavy compromises in the cheap iPhone SE 2020 design and construction. This is NOT a premium phone Apple's iPhones are known for.
Spend a lot more for an iPhone if you don't want to be discriminated by the richer iPhone owners who will most likely call you a pretentious, trying hard social climber who wants to blend in with them.
That, or just buy a better, more premium android phone. There's plenty of excellent choices for that $399 asking price of the iPhone SE.
Buying the iPhone SE 2020 is like buying a Sony 32" 720p LCD tv instead of an alternative 50" 4K UHD tv from other less known tv brands that cost the same. (Buying it just because you must have 'Sony' brand name rather than 'Devant', 'Skyworth', 'TCL' or 'HiSense' in your tv.)

I was considering this phone but I was suspecting the battery will be a disaster. Unfortunately, the review proves it is indeed.

In Europe, one can buy Samsung s10e for the same price.
I would choose it any time of day instead of the SE.

I finally received mine, I have it on the Smart battery case and man does the battery drain fast. Went from 100 to 0 in 4 hours. Using the smart battery case on my iPhone 11 pro lasts from 100 to 50 in 10 hours with the same usage. I am just talking about the smart battery case percentage. If I am correct, add 3 times the hours when adding the Phone's battery. I had better battery life with the same smart battery case using my iPhone 8. I don't see this phone as an all day travel phone. I still love it though but barely gets through work day.

For many, this is the perfect phone, with the best support in the industry.
And iOS13 is starting to tempt me to move over to Apple hardware.

There are some good looking Android phones at the same price range as the SE but I think after a year or so will be too slow to use or if usable the overall feeling will be on the negative side. The iPhone SE has outdated looks but it looks nonetheless beautiful, and more premium than most Androids at that price but I find the A13 an irresistible offer considering that fact that it faster than some top end, 1000 phones. I know the choice is hard but I think no other phone will last as long as the iPhone SE and still performs fast. I like to hold on my phone for as long as it still fast enough to use and I think only the iPhone can offer that. So for me at least the SE is the best I can get to last for 5 years.

This phone could have been lot better if apple had opted for 5" display, bigger 3000 mah battery and a 10 watt charger in box.

Meh. I thought this could be a good alternative for Android except for that year 2014 phone battery life. I feel bad for Apple fans buying this, will have to carry chargers/power banks with them.
