Samsung, you promised that the GN1 sensor can take 100 megapixel photos, so just a marketing lie?Samsung said "Samsung also provides a software algorithm that takes light information from each photodiode to produce image resolutions comparable to 100Mp."
Probably the resolution can not even compete with a 50 megapixel Bayer sensor due to the Quad Bayer array.

Hi. Great camera... but I'm still curious if you can improve photo quality using a Gcam port, specially on ultrawide and telephoto. Has anyone been able to found such a multicamera conscious Gcam?

Vivo chose ~7000 ISO while Xiaomi chose ~700 ISO. I owned for about two years a Meizu phone. Its night photos were taken with very high ISO (around 5000-7000) on regular low light scenes, while other phones took a maximum 1000 ISO photos on the same scenes.

The ultrawide camera is basically the same sensor you found on Google Pixel phones for crying out loud (even though it was modified to accommodate a wider field of view). The 5x zoom telephoto camera is a modified 48MP camera sensor that you find on most phone's primary camera!
So yes, it IS definitely better than the vivo on paper at least.

I am so let down of delay of mate40pro. I am okey with side loading google play and other stuff, if it delivers power camera and spec sheet better than x2pro, I never buy a phone for it's brand, but for the phone itself. had so many brands. never will be best brand, but always best phone of year. and every year is different brand at 1 2 and 3rd place best phones :)

Do 99% of other people want to do that - no.
And after you've followed those 20+ stage guides you still don't have a fully integrated and supported GMS install.
And it now looks like Huawei do not have an Android 11 license...

Heck, I even downloaded the X50 Pro+ and Mi 10 Ultra's 50MP and 48MP full resolution respectively and downscaled it to their respective pixel-binned resolution and it's a no-contest for the vivo - it does look better than the Xiaomi. It's a shame really that the Xiaomi has much better camera hardware than the X50 Pro+ on paper, but their camera software processing algorithm really lets it down. No wonder why GCam port is so popular for Xiaomi devices.

kwisatz haderach, 05 Oct 2020What's with that high ISO values on Vivo regular night... moreI noticed that too but being Night Mode (thus multi-stacking exposures) the ISO is not reliable. As far as I know night modes merge photos with multiple exposures: so what ISO should be "stamped" for the end-result photo? Maybe Vivo stamps the highest ISO and Xiaomi the minimum / average :)

I hardly believe the camera section of such smartphones knowing that they are just pixel binned in nature.

What's with that high ISO values on Vivo regular night photos (not Night Mode) ? ~7000 on Vivo vs ~700 on Xiaomi.

I noticed a contradiction in this article: on one hand the Vivo X50 Pro+ doesn't over-sharpens photos (which is good) but on the other hand, in the comparison with Mi10 Ultra the Xiaomi phone has sharper photos. I really pixel-peeped every daylight photo in that comparison and I can only notice aggressive over-sharpening in Mi10 Ultra photos, and some fine detail loss because of this. Especially when comparing 5x photos: Vivo photos are way more natural post-processed, thus having more fine detail which Xiaomi smears due to aggressive post-processing.
It's true that Vivo's photos are more yellow-ish, that Xiaomi does have slightly better dynamic range and that Xiaomi night-mode it's a bit better (sometimes) but I believe we should give Vivo credit for such a pleasant and natural post-processing. I would personally love to see this in more phones, and I could buy a Vivo phone in the future if they keep this trend.
Note that I own a Xiaomi MiNote 10 Pro so I'm not a Xiaomi hater; I actually like Xiaomi for producing great value phones!
Cheers!
