Suz, 10 Dec 2020So now consumers need to look up charger for their new phon... moreThere still is a bit of point in Apple's train of thoughts. Look at it that way: When you consider that there are P wired-power devices sold, it makes sense that you need to sell P power adapters to make them work. However, if there are Q battery-operated devices sold (sporting a number of connectors which you can count on fingers of one hand), do you REALLY need to sell Q+R chargers and S power banks? (the R is there because you may have noticed that third-party adapters are pretty common goods these days; people want chargers with more ports and GaN trend is picking up)
I would imagine there are two basic scenarios: An "everyday" consumer buys a charger-less iPhone. Opens the box, finds out he/she doesn't have USB-C charger yet (may be either an Apple user or owner of older Android phone or whatever). After a while of wondering/ranting (scratch the non-applicable option), digs up a USB-A charger (let's put aside those rare cases where the 2020 iPhone is the household's first battery-operated device since the era of fixed-cable microUSB chargers), throws the USB-C cable in a drawer and either digs up or buys for a few bucks a USB-A Lightning cable.
Second user might be a "tech fan." In this scenario, I have even much harder time imagining that there is NOT A SINGLE charger in the household capable of charging the d*mned phone... :D
My point being: Isn't the world oversaturated with chargers of all kinds? And cables as well? Are there mechanisms reliable and efficient enough to recycle (or disintegrate in a meaningful, harmless way) our things at the end of their life cycle?

So, now (bcoz of Apple), reviewers have a new job of reviewing 3rd party chargers. Stupid Apple.

Those 89% smartphones are all running Android in their veins.
                  My argument still stands tall.
89% people wanted nothing to do with iOS.
Besides, Xiaomi, Huawei and Samsung shipped 13%,14% and 22% respectively which is higher than Apple's 11%.

60W?? Are you sure, you are using ROG 2?
Even the ROG 3 is capped at 30W charging.
Although that 30W is extremely fast compared to other 30W-40W chargers on the market.

It is ridiculous to say that you are saving environment by not putting a charger into the smartphone box. You will do that by decreasing the number of smartphone production, by making them usable for 5 years instead of throwing out new models every year. So Apple is lying that they care about ecology. All they care is their bank account. That applies for all other brands.

That guy makes complete sense. He is simply pointing out that iPhone resale value argument is overrated as net value of using the phone turns out to be higher anyways.

Way better than iPhone 12 back with generic boring design.

People always take a second look at it, impressed by how premium it looks.
Nobody takes a second look at iPhone. They know the same boring look for years now.

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2020What to do when iphones have highest resale value in the wo... moreI sold my iPhone 11 pro Max for Rs.55k.
                                      Bought it for around Rs.120k.
Effective Cost of using the phone for a little less than a year turned out to be Rs.65k.

If you buy other flagships and sell them after a year, the maximum effective cost of using the phone turns out to be less than Rs.50k which is why the resale value of iPhone is overrated and another illusion.

I'll be selling my OP8 pro for a 2021 flagship most probably.
Though it won't fetch me the resale amount of iPhone but percentage wise the value would be similar.
I can easily sell it for Rs.25k-30k thereby making effective cost of using the phone for a year around Rs.30k-35k.
Way cheaper for a superior phone than iPhone 12 pro Max.

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2020What to do when iphones have highest resale value in the wo... moreYes they do have a very good resale value but their original cost is expensive thereby nullifying any benefits of resale value.
