I like this 5G configered/4 camera, 128G phone and plan to buy two more as gifts for relative who are being ripped off in the States.

Anyone's phone fingerprint sensor has many incorrect attempt while in pocket with screen facing leg? Mine has prevent accidental touch while in dark places or pocket enabled! Not proximity sensor problem as it pass the test in *#0*# test. However I have to touch the earpiece in order for the sensor to activate in the test.

Even the best phone with an SD888, 24gb ram, 16k display, 200mp 40x super rez camera that can take pictures of Saturn's rings will be a potato if software limits it to be a potato.
Specs aren't always everything.

I am extremely a Dissapoint ;p

The ruined unique, small midrange series A4x but putting the screen which is not only bigger, but also lower resolution. There are far better phones for the price, so I wonder, what's the purpose of this device?

This is a good option for the budget 5G phones, as you don't see many of them around because companies raise the pries to account for 5G. Apple is one of the few brands which did not do this with their iPhone 12 series. Samsung could make more budget phones like this to bring more competition into the cheap 5G devices. This phone is huge, so they could make a smaller phone to compete with the iPhone 12 mini. That would be really interesting to see, especially looking at how Samsung would market it. The A42 5G is fairly new, and I have not seen any adverts for it, so I think Samsung wants to bring more attention to their 5G flagships. They could use this phone as bait, to lure people in and then upsell them to a better model by listing the benefits of spending more. The notch is a nice addition, because many people prefer holepunch cut-outs, so this could be another marketing reason to upgrade to a higher end model. Either way, I like the way Samsung is going with their budget series of smartphones.

terrible display resol., not support 60fps video record and price... big joke. Realme X50 5G is maybe better choise.

I am now saying it for the third time with Samsung (previously with the Galaxy Note 20 and A51): #notworth. Unbelievable that Samsung does not manage to increase RAM and hard disk storage, AT THE SAME TIME lowers the display quality to the level of a 100 € phone (much too low resolution at 6.6 INCH in 2021!) And then INCREASES the price. With 4GB ram, the SnapDragon750 is also nonsense, because it will be a bottleneck. in 2020/2021 Processors like Kirin 710/810 or SD 730 are powerful enough, and in a few years, when the phone can actually benefit fron SD750, it has not enough ram. Also, the plastic still feels and looks like recycled garden chairs ... Even other companies were able to put better plastic in their phones.
A lot has gone wrong since the cooperation with Microsoft in 2018 ...

Anonymous, 28 Dec 2020The 720p oled screen contributes to the great battery life. Oh I know, the low-res pentile AMOLED is too much of a compromise for me.
