Doesn't the vast majority in the western world now have decent internet?

I've had Internet through fiber for over a decade by now. Both when I lived in the city, and now that i live in the countryside. 5G is being rolled out worldwide now as well.

Most likely it is casual gamers who will opt for this. For enthusiasts the shortcomings won't make it desirable enough. When off-site they rather look at streamers.

Just like enthusiasts still buy 4K blu-rays, enthusiasts will keep their $1000-3000 gaming rigs and wired connection.

Jim, 16 Jan 2021Good luck with tunnels palWhere do you live? Since you don't have coverage in tunnels.

I used Geforce now for 1 month and I canceled it today because the prices that I have to pay for the games are bigger than the ones in stores plus I am not a fan of cloud gaming at all, I prefer having physical games not pay for something that I will never own or not be able to sell after finishing. I personally will not go back to cloud gaming until my PS5 will arrive it's end of life or maybe not at all.

Cloud game should be a tacked on feature like Xcloud, because the only people interested would be enthusiasts and never average day people.

I think you missed some AAA freegames like Hitman 1 and 2.

Personally Stadia has over a year of life, it wont go to the graveyard

Stadia is a different beast on the chromecast ultra with a stadia controller still. Also works great on computers. Third party controller on android app is a different and much worse experience. Works fine on a phone screen, but that's it. The new Google/Android tv app should change that. With the pro subscription you also get discounts and a bunch of free games every month, and you keep them. So after a year of pro subscription you have a huge library of over 100 games you probably never played more than once.
Stadia is great if you never play with your friends, because your friends most likely play playstation or. Xbox/game pass.

toastyman, 15 Jan 2021for the good of gaming I hope none of these ever catch upThis is what the DVR owners and manufacturers also said way back when streaming started. Why are we as human beings so threatened by positive change and modern progress, holy crap. This is amazing and I for one support game streaming 110%. No more overpriced consoles, just like we don't need DVRs anymore, simple as that.

Thank your for an in-depth, trueful and knowledgeable review of all the services the only one I have not tried is Amazon as I'm not in their ecosystem at all.

I've return Nvidia GForce now but had early issues understanding games that were optimised for the service and those that were not. I used the service from the offset when it included games before it moved to store only the transition was messy in my opinion. Not sure I would go back in a hurry. I'll try a free version next.

Stadia is where I am now, just limitations with the games ATM an waiting to see how that goes, sceptical of its future and wish Google would give some kind of assurance that if later down the line it would protect any purchases you had made of it decided to scrap the project. Also I don't like that when I purchased F1 2020, that I landed in the pro free version a couple of weeks later. Bad timing! Seeing the controller up want easy. No complaints on graphics and the Cyberpunk gameplay. I've experienced zero lag and happily use Chromecast and the official controller.

I have tried Xbox gamespass for Android and was really impressed with the game categories and choice of games. Had I been able to purchase a Xbox X this could have been my go-to genes system as the ability to play games on the move is appealing and the choice of games together with streaming from the console games could sway me back once I can get hold of a X console. Also Microsoft Flight Simulator will probably be the game that will decide which of the 3 options I will contribute with.

Pity PlayStation hasn't addopted the game streaming market yet. PS Now is too limited and does not work together with PS5 like it should. I think they will loose out long-term .

But in a way is normal, Google probably invested the most money in their servers in the last years. The all around experience is better than xcloud and PS Now.
They lack in games, true, but the service is constantly updating with new games. And if you have Stadia Pro subscription (10EUR/month) you can have great discounts from time to time (I bought Tomb Raider with 3.5EUR). Also, some free games that you can claim.
