For a product with the catchphrase "a real camera in a smartphone," it seems half-baked.
Sales points
1.0-inch image sensor with unparalleled descriptive power
A shutter button that looks like a camera
However, the 1.0-inch image sensor is already used in the AQUOS R6, and the shutter button has been used in the Xperia series for a long time, so I don't think there is anything special that has evolved as a "real camera" in the Xperia Pro-I.
Disappointing points when viewed as a "real camera
The variable aperture is half-hearted with only F2.0 and F4.0 for the wide-angle camera.
In addition to the shutter button, I would have liked to see physical dials for zoom, mode switching, aperture/shutter speed change, and exposure compensation. It is desirable to be able to operate the camera while holding it with both hands.
The lens should be placed in the center of the camera if it is considered a camera-only device. （It would be difficult to use as a smartphone.)
The sensor of the 50mm telephoto camera is 1/2.9" like the sensor of the Xperia 1 III, which is smaller than the 1/2" sensor of the Pixel 6 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra; the sensor of the 16mm ultra-wide angle camera is 1/2.55", which is smaller than the 1/2" sensor of the Mi 11 Ultra and the 1/1.56" sensor of the OnePlus 9 Pro. The 16mm ultra-wide camera has a 1/2.55-inch sensor, smaller than the 1/2-inch sensor in the Mi 11 Ultra and the 1/1.56-inch sensor in the OnePlus 9 Pro.
The telephoto camera has a focal length of only 50mm; I would have liked to see a focal length of around 100mm.
No macro function. （No macro function (I don't know the minimum shooting distance)
Battery replacement is not possible. (When the battery deteriorates, it becomes useless.)
No SD card (not microSD) to insert and remove like a camera-only device.

No, they don't. They have Quad Bayer sensors and as far as I know, there is no raw converter that can handle the raw files well, as far as I know the dng format even doesn't save the Quad Bayer array.
Currently, the only high resolution camera with a Bayer sensor is the Galaxy S21, but as far as I know it can't save 64 megapixel raw files. I don't know whether 3rd party apps are able to save 64 megapixel raw files.

Camera would have been more interesting, if it had a 24 megapixel sensor, a software shutter button and better hardware. It's hard to find a smartphone that can capture Bayer array raw files with more than 16 megapixels.

Guys, stop being all authoritative if you maths is that of a 7 year old.
For the hard of thinking:
12mp out of 20mp are squares, not linear dimensions. So the relative size is the square root of 20 over the square root of 12 = 1.3
So it's 1/1.3 of a 1" type sensor. (That is not actually an inch in size, or 1/1.3. But that can be for another patronising update)
Only the Sharp and the Xiaomi 11 Ultra of current phones are larger. Not dozens.
Vivo X70 Pro Plus etc. are about the same, but as they have a smaller F number and lower ISO they let in more light, in theory. But lens quality matters too.

Sensor size is note 1/1.7"
It is a 1/1.33" sensor which is 50% bigger than 1/1.7 sensor
Phones like vivo x70 pro plus have samsung gn1 sensor, it is a 1/1.31" sensor and They are a tiny bit bigger than the affective sensor area used in xperia

regs, 12 Nov 202111T has pretty bad telephoto and wide angle camerasYeah, kind of. But I am intrigued by the Dimensity chip and the huge screen. I like huge screen for work. The Poco X3 GT has better cameras, but lacks some features I need.
The 11T, at a discounted price, would be nice.

Well, the sample photos look nice but this setup is still a point-and-shoot camera worth $2000 or more with Sony's intended accessories.
In short, it's a $2000 point-and-shoot camera with a great phone.

Image quality is not twice or three times better than best smartphone cameras. It is not easy to use and most of the time, you will still need software-enhanced images to achieve a balanced contrast between colors and white-balance; highlights and shadows.
Also, 1-inch sensors will still suffer from noise.
