Everything is nice in s plus but have samsung addressed the green line on screen which has affected thousands of s20plus phones. Replacement of screen is very costly almost half of s20 fe phone price ! Many would shift to iphone if samsung comes forward to recall these faulty screens.

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2022S22+ already has a screen protector fitted at the factory Not entirely true.. only for certain markets.. mine in the UK had a factory fitted protector.. but it was designed to be removed (with a tab) on receipt of the phone and was not designed for use...

I have put a screen protector on my S22+, and it is an absute joke trying to get the fingerprint sensor to work. And, before there are all kinds of comments, the sensesativity on the sensor has been maxed out. I really don't want to use the phone without a screen protector either. Samsung needs to have a software fix for this.

but main CONS I see in android (even I am android user)
                - Battery life(even iphone13 lasts longer than s22+) compare battery size
                - OneUI still lags
                - Camera shutter lags
                - Extra heating stuff ( may be iPhones gets heats now onwards but may be less than SDG1)

Resale of samsung is totally half in 4-6 months.

And iPhone is a lot pricier and worst battery, and the camera is not my cup of cake except maybe the cinematic mode, and the 5 years OS update is redundant since iPhone doesn't change much every year so in reality you're just getting an update with few features added I'd choose a 3 yrs android update that gets new and awesome featured added pls stick to iPhone if u like it and stop comparing to android let those that like Android talk about it and those that like iPhone talk about that phone it's every one choice

The reason why the S21, S21+, S20, and S20+ has a secondary 64MP sensor is that the main 12MP camera cannot do 8K video recording. But since it's not a Quad Bayer type, it can do lossless crop zoom.

They don't rely on oversampling techniques, unlike something you see from the Nokia 808 PureView or the Nokia Lumia 1020. That can do lossless zoom because the array remains unchanged, unlike Quad Bayer.

Xperia Pro-I and Xiaomi 12 Pro both have competent cameras (unlike anything that Samsung or Apple offers), I see what you're saying (except for the "detail purity" part ) and I totally get why you prefer Xperia's shots, but that's beside the point.

It seems as if Xiaomi sacrifice contrast for colour vibrance and highlight. I also see better detail purity on the Sony. That said, I did compare the photos between Xiaomi 12 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22+ alongside S22 Ultra as well and the Xiaomi does look better compared to Samsung.

For instance, Xiaomi 12 Pro with a Quad Bayer sensor generally offers better image quality than Xperia Pro-I, which has a similarly large regular-Bayer sensor.

Think of a 48MP Quad Bayer sensor in this way - It does everything a 12MP Bayer sensor does, and offers an option to shoot in higher resolution in case you need it.

yalim, 14 Mar 2022the main cam is 50MP so,zoomed shots upto 3x (or ~2.5x with... moreYou have to remember that the S22/S22+'s 50MP sensor is a Quad Bayer type, unlike the S21/S21+'s 12MP native RGB sensor. Quad Bayer sensor combines four neighbouring pixels to give a larger effective pixel size, which does help to reduce noise under low light conditions, but at the expense of lossless zoom and detail purity. If you look closely at both S22+ and S21 photos side by side at full resolution zoom, you can see better detail from the S21.

I've been looking closely at the photos between the S22+ and the S21, even comparing them using GSMArena's own photo compare tool, and what I've been saying to myself for years now still stands: Quad Bayer is still not the future. I actually see much better detail purity with the S21 instead of the S22+, especially from daylight photos.
