can anyone tell me if different text message tones can be assigned to each of the 2 sims or to individual phone book entries.

"However, if you wish to call using the secondary SIM card, pressing the dedicated SIM management key switches the SIM card for the outgoing call. There are no delays or glitches whatsoever using this feature."
Reference to above opinion in this review, If we need to toggle to the second SIM is this done without reset, or is reseting the hand set not considered as a delay.

I have it. It has no competition. Every phone should be a dual sim phone!

@Christov
Read my previous comment, I mentioned a Windows Mobile dual-sim phone in there.

Great review, thanks! I am considering buying either this phone or the Windows Mobile dual-sim pda phone, DSTW1. The thing i like about this phone is its make, it's samsung and hence good quality. However, this dual-sim pda offers quite a bit of additional functionality that the samsung model doesn't have. Would be nice if you could do a review on that phone, http://www.dual-sim.eu/product_info.php/products_id/148 . Unfortunately, it doesn't look as stylish as this Samsung model.

to Saif,
You make the thinking, which is primary is the one that is prioritized and the other one is put on hold. Wow have you tried having two call at one time? or do you have a cell phone?

Great!!!! i really like sumsung how they challenge another phone compagnies they are alwys thinking hight and put tghe game in they level that you can not follow without some efforts. they are simply awsome and if we can have an excellent phone from Nokia, HTC, Sonyericsson...or others it's because of samsung. good inovation team congratulation!!!!!

hmmm, i guess because i'm in the USA that the 2nd sim is pretty useless to me. not that the primary sim is much better since it lacks the 850 band and i'm on AT/T. maybe the motorola a1600 (or 1800, forgot which one) will do better in catering to us in america. too bad all these new samsung are triband because i really loved the d900. i guess i'll be switching to nokia now.

Christov, you rule ;-) But watch out, next time I'm gonna leave the first comment so fast it'll make your head spin!
That being said, dual SIM Samsungs are sooo yesterday. What do I do with my third SIM? Buy a second phone? Gimme a quad-SIM phone already!

I most certainly do have something constructive to say "nameless"!
Seriously though would like to see a phone where you can use dual 3G sims. If it was, I'd be on 3 and Vodafone/T-Mobile here in the UK.
Must admit, I'd love to see "SMARTPHONES" like S60 or Windows Mobile with Dual Sim functionality. Imagine, U have an Orange SIM for TEXTS and a T-Mobile SIM for ur MINS and INTERNET!!!
THAT'D BE AWESOME.
OH BTW: THIRD!! (Not very constructive, I know, nut hey, NO HARM DONE)
