I have been using the 5 pro for the last week and I hate it. As a long time Galaxy user since S1 till today owning Note 20 ultra, Samsung is simply terrible in the battery development. I leave the watch full charged from mid night till 8 am with Bluetooth off, wifi off and battery saving on and the battery drains 10% without any use. Also the design of the normal watch 5 is better the pro as this design of the pro is obstructive with the raised lip.

We need more competition. Surely there is a Wear OS 3 manufacturer with a decent health sensor and Snapdragon W5 chipset that could probably go against the Samsung at considerably less money.

Have watch 4, and will never upgrade it unless it has 1 week battery life, should have listened to my friends suggestions of buying huawei or amazfit watch as pretty much the same.
Thought playstore would give different experience, but otherthan spotify, i dont use or download other apps

I've wore the Watch 5 Pro LTE for the last month and have the following to add. I'm really enjoying the magnetic D Band as it looks great and is quick and easy to put on and take off. I actually prefer the raised titanium bezel vs the bulky rotating bezel on the Watch 4 Classic. Looks much higher end and the metal bezel acts as a groove for my finger if I want to use the digital rotating bezel. Battery life great and I'm getting 3 days and nights of constant wear.

I think another Con should be added. i.e. the QI charging does not work on non Samsung phones or most standard QI charges. It doesn't work with older Samsung QI chargers either.

Should've mentioned the awful GPS accuracy/ test it thoroughly - this is in the end a PRO device aimed also @ more intensive fitness tracking.
I just returned mine after 2 weeks of testing. Geting ~300m on a 8km run compared to the phone/garmin vivoactive/venu baselines.
That ERROR is almost -1km for a semi-marathon and -2km on a marathon.
I wouldn't call that a PRO by any means.
Other than that, very solid/good device, but still sad with the GPS part....

AngryLithuanian, 03 Oct 2022Apple's Ultra watch has 3 day battery lifeThat isn't true though, is it? They're "promising" 60 hours (2.5 days) in a future update, using a power saving mode where you disable several features. My GW5Pro breezes through to 4+ days if I don't use a poorly made custom watchface that drains battery. That said, even with a terrible watch face, I get 3+ days, easily.

Fearghast, 03 Oct 2022Well, you failed to notice that ECG sensor, optical heart r... moreWhat do you mean "no correlation with reality?"
I'm a ER nurse and the pulse oximeter we use works with the same principle, (granted, we normally put the optical sensor on the index finger but the wrist position is commonly used in newborns other than the ipsilateral palm or sole) and as long is used properly there is little discrepancy , of course all with the notion that both needs to be used to monitor and not diagnose (for that you need an arterial BGA )
. The ECG function , while being just single lead, if medically certified ,can be very useful to monitor irregular heartbeats episodes without the necessity to keep a cumbersome and annoying ecg holter device glued to your body, I recently spoke with a cardiac doctor that at his practice had at least a couple of patient that came after being referred by (or dismissed :P) by their family doctor that couldn't find anything with their routine checks , and they where in their prime of their life and felt generally ok bar a few recurrent notifications from their apple watches and indeed it was found that one had a bundle branch block (a type of heart conduction disorder ) , and another one a problem with a valve , both case something that occurred and measurable only during exercise.
Sure now there are more false positive cases and more tools for hypochondriacs BUT overall I can see the benefit for these type of devices .
The only thing that's not that much useful (or rather accurate) is the blood pressure measurements from the optical sensor ,even if you calibrate it, can be deceived or err very easily, the only one smartwatch that may get it right are the ones that inflates.

[deleted post]Well, you failed to notice that ECG sensor, optical heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor and many other "measurements" have no correlation with reality, therefore they should be considered as irrelevant when picking up a smartwatch.

I am not into smartwatches at all as its a headache managing a phone and a smartwatch at the same time. You have to take care of charging both overnight which can be hectic. Although I already have fossil gen 4 smartwatch but dont use it at all. But this watch 5 pro is really tempting in a way that its battery life is great. 3 days of battery life is fantastic and refreshing to see in a smartwatch. This is what Apple should follow.
