I'm frustrated already. Do they make good phones any more. The battery last all day. That's the best thing this phone got.

This phone sucks I got it in November 2022 because my last phone was slowing down then I started having problems with this phone about around January the phone would just randomly power off and restart in the night time the drop calls and the processor is crap because it can't even keep track of my messages or calls and it breaks easily it would be a good phone if you gonna just do the basics which is call and text and nothing more

Another member on here has made me aware - It looks like this handset will remain totally exclusive to America/Canada and won't ever see a release in other regions..

With that being the case - it may be a worthwhile option, as the other realme/oneplus/oppo/vivo etc handsets aren't sold there.

Mediatek sux, 28 Nov 2022"They've used A-Si, not IPS, LTPS etc" From... moreI'm not stating anything from my own opinion but only CONFIRMING what Oppo have directly told me - via their live chat facility through their live chat agent.

They stated specifically - (after quizzing them) that their A77 5G is using an a-Si based panel (that isn't using IPS) and referred me to their A74 5G/A96 4G if I wanted an LTPS/IPS based smartphone.

If their a-Si panel isn't using IPS, then it's obviously using very very old display tech.

The A77 5G is the Nord N300, just rebranded.

Tom209, 26 Nov 2022I know. Hence why I made the distinction between amorphous ... more"They've used A-Si, not IPS, LTPS etc"
From this sentence, what i got was that you are stating they are using asi instead of ips or ltps. Do you mean that they are using asi and its also not an ips display and doesnt have ltps either?

Mediatek sux, 26 Nov 2022Asi and ips are two different things. They arent stuff you ... moreI know. Hence why I made the distinction between amorphous silicon (A-Si) and In-Plane Switching (IPS).

They've used a very basic old display type in this Nord, with 90hz fresh/90hz touch sample rate.

In the UK, this Nord will retail at £219.99 (to match the price of the identical rebranded Oppo A77 5G). They may offer a sale price of £179.99 like Oppo eventually did with the A77 5G.

This is NOT worth it and vastly overpriced for the specs.

You can get a Moto G62 5G (currently £169.99), Oppo A54 5G or A74 5G (less than £200), Poco M4 Pro 5G, Poco M5, Realme 8 5G etc all for under £200. All come with either IPS/LTPS, some with 90hz or 120hz fresh rates, all 1080p, and between 180 - to 240hz touch sample rates.

There is no justificatiion to release this with a 720p A-Si 90hz touch sample rate screen. None at all, except to rip consumers off.

Tom209, 24 Nov 2022Also, the LCD tech they've used is ancient. They'... moreAsi and ips are two different things. They arent stuff you use interchangabley.

LoneOwl, 25 Nov 2022Gsmarena needs to rework their battery endurance scores as ... moreRegarding the total endurance score, the Oneplus could just have significantly worse standby time than the Samsung.

Gsmarena needs to rework their battery endurance scores as they make no bloody sense.

                      Endurance 130hours

As for the Oneplus, it is embarrasing for a late 2022 device at 230dollars to come up with a 720p lcd display.

This mediocre phone shouldn't have been released. OnePlus, please do yourself a favour, and figure out which all idiots were behind this decision.

Not much thought has gone into this phone at all. Overpriced and vastly under specced.

Anonymous, 24 Nov 2022Not everyone wants a high-end phone, the N200 was plenty of... moreBut Oppo/Realme/Oneplus also have more powerful better specced phones in the same price category that actually come with 1080p displays, not 720p like this one.

Also a 90hz touch sampling rate is unacceptable on a 2022 device with a 90hz refresh rate. Even the cheaper Oppo A54 and A74 5g both have 90hz refresh rates, 1080p screens and 180hz touch sample rates.

180hz touch sampling response rate should be the very basic standard now. Even the moto g62 5g has a touch sample rate of 240hz on it's 120hz refresh display.

J... moreBBK has gained a lot of market share over the years, so they basically feel no need to offer new innovation to their entry level and midrange models anymore. They are even taking out features like OIS from Oppo Reno and Vivo V series despite increasing prices each year. Seems like in 2022 they are focussing more on rehashing phones from the past because of "chip shortage".

This is basically the Oppo A77 5G/Realme Narzo 50 5G.

Just so you know - some of these come with a 720p screen, 90hz refresh rate, coupled with a 90hz touch response rate (which is abysmal for 2022).

Not sure what BBK's marketing strategy is - but it isn't really displaying much innovation, as they only seem to be releasing identical handsets branded differently across all their subsidiaries. What's the point?

IpsDisplay, 22 Nov 2022You can't trust this site for entry level reviews T... moreExactly! It's an inherent flaw in the system. When your rating system is literally just 4 star for mid range and above and 5 star reserved only for flapships then by definition the entry level phones will only have access to 3 stars as any more and it would be seen as "better than a mid ranger".

An entry level phone can be a no nonsense, "gets its basic right" 5/5 star product. A mid ranger can be a cash grab and a 2/5 star product (Looking at you, Samsung) and a flapship can be the same product as last year with just a few upgrades making it a 3/5 product compared to last year's 5/5 (When has a flagship ever been mind blowing recently? It's all been interative over previous models)
