I just got this phone for free from the cable carrier. Naturally no instructions.
My old phone all I had to do was tap the screen and it came back up, It seems if I wait what they deem is to long the screen goes black and I have to push the button again wjich takes me back to the opening screen. I thought Samsung was better than that. This is extremely annoying. Is there a way to change this so all I have to do is tap it.

Phone is made in China even though Samsung website says the factory in China closed in 2019.

Anonymous, 05 Jun 2023is this worth buying That's because people are paying the prices, + their in busy to make a profit l agree with that. BUT I DON'T BELIEVE IN BEING TOTALLY RIPED OFF. We continue to buy prices will contine to sky rocket. There's no need for this....!!! And they should start not using products that give us CANCER. IT'S all man's greed. They get these phone's made so cheaply made. Selling them is big huge profit it's not fear.

I'm finding that the A14 doesn't want to charge easily. I've tried two of them and charged them all day. The very highest it got charged was to 80%. Is this normal? All my other cell phones charge within an hour. Just wondering...

Thank you for the review, not everyone is looking for a high range phone, budget phones is still the majority need in the rest of the world. Thanks to the competetions Samsung is adding more features to their budget phones.

Seems Samsung added shutter speed and manual focus to the A14’s pro mode in the One UI Core 5.1 update.

So one aspect that everyone forgets about in everyday use is up to date 5G bands. My everyday phone is a OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren run on T-Mobile, it's "5G capable" however at my work it's got spotty coverage on T-Mobiles 5G network. I had the opportunity to get a A14 5G for $40 and I really wanted to check out what the differences were on T-Mobiles Ultra Capacity network vs my 4 year old 5G capable phone. Both phones were purchased from T-Mobile when new. Running the two phones side by side my McLaren got a 20 Mbps download speed while the A14 5G got a 200 Mbps download speed on the T-Mobile UC network. Try that with a Chinese phone with a hodge podge of 5G frequency bands. For $40 it's not a horrible phone. Nothing I'd want to use as a primary phone but it's not horrible. All 3 of my daughters run OnePlus Nord N10 5Gs which have significantly better specs than the A14 5G and all 3 of them have a horribly buggy experience, as have I with my McLaren. And I love OnePlus, I've owned many of their phones but buggy software is one of their things. One thing to be said about Samsung, less software bugs than Chinese manufacturers....

Mollisol, 24 Feb 2023That's no way to live in 2023. I charge my Find X5 in ... moreWhy do you care for Apple, Samsung or Google fast charging when you're not interested in their offerings anyway? I mean, you have an Oppo, meaning your preference choice is all about bigger numbers in specsheet. Samsung, Apple and Google don't work like Oppo does. All mentioned brands are designing their phones for longer use. Longer then usual 2 years. Meaning they care more for their battery longetivity as their buyers tend to have their devices for longer then let's say any Chinese brand. That's one of the reasons we don't see "Western" brands jumping on the ultra fast charging like all others have in their offerings. Reason number two is that some people need a scientific proof for what companies are advertising for their batteries longevity after using an ultra fast charger.
There is still no TUV cerrificate for that. Impact on the battery longetivity. We have TUV certificates for battery SAFTEY, but not for impact on battery LONGEVITY. Until that people will have debates should they use it with out any risk or not. So far it all depends on our personal belief.
Cheers!
