Motorola ThinkPhone review

We use Lenovo at our company. All the engineers have Thinkpad workstations. They are so fantastic, I decided to get one for myself at home. I found some off-lease models in eBay and got one for my wife and one for me, cc with two years of factory warranty still on them (because they were leased for a year). The P52 and P73 have been reliable and durable and the fastest computers I have ever owned.
I've used Motorola phones for a long time and they have been less reliable, usually failing after about two years. I wonder how long this Lenovo phone will last.

King Agoi, 10 Mar 2023A reasonable & serious company should give their employ... moreOne huge problem i have with galaxy phones due to principal is that they, much like apple, purposely make your phone go obsolete. Every time you do something on the galaxy, it saves it to the system storage. Theres no way to clear it or delete it. Within 2 years, your phone's storage is majorily the systems storage. My s20 ultra was 99% system storage (quite literally).
The moto phones are highly customizable which is wonderful for business phones since everyone is different.

Beautiful aesthetically pleasing. Not a clunky Bison or such. Very nice. Go and pooh pooh everything as you must

My company stays away from their products due to the pricing. We use HP EliteBooks, and they are better in some regards.
If you look at the used market, most of these Carbon ex-corporate machines are destroyed. Keyboard fails, the screens have pressure marks, the coating turns into goo and is overall disgusting, whilst the Elitebooks still look banging.
Lenovo has not done a great job with these since taking over IBM.

Decent enough battery life but that's about it. Other than that the badge is there just to jack up the price and score some minor "collector" points.
As a longtime Thinkpad user and fan, this is just beyond underwhelming really and a huge missed opportunity to go a bit against the grain. This could have been that better specced ver of Nokia G22; repairable and fits the classic "Think" brand. Noy just a badge and a flimsy attempt for a fancy carbon chassis aesthetics.

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2023What serious company would use a Android device is beyond me .You would be surprised at how many do. My firm provides us with Samsung smartphones as of now. The cost of iPhones is too high especially for bigger firms with a large number of employees.

Gsm arena or be it any other..what is a perfect texture or material to make a phone, perfect software and perfect camera/display/refresh rate/size/features/ colour/ price/ and the advanced tech updates to be in a phone!?

They already had a business class device, the Moto Z series, modular design with Projector, Battery, Speaker, SLR camera and battery Mods. It was a perfect device. Anyways, Motorola is dead for me.

As a thinkpad user, I find this smartphone promising, and I would be happy to own a smartphone, with such design and build quality. Since it's their first release of "thinkphone", I bet they'll correct the serious flaws on next version.

This isnt meant to be purchased by end-users, they only released it for 1000EUR if someone really really really wants it, they'll be able to get it. The play here is to incorporate this with enterprises, for companies that provide smartphones to their employees, probably at a much cheaper cost to them. I think it will succeed on that front.

Am shocked that this phone has scored 4.1 points from 5. The camera is pure rubbish - the worst camera performance of any phone on Gsmarena reviewed in at least a year! And it only costs 1000 euros! This is a joke really...
