The only flat surface in these sample pics which looks very smooth are those glass surfaces, but those are obviously glass. Otherwise fine details in flat surfaces are, fine and pretty resolving.

If you actually found those pictures, do mention because I may have missed something.

The real shame is, how can GSMArena not write about all the software shortcomings of a China OS phone. Most people don't know them.

1. BBK China OS phones are up to the brink with spyware. A review for tech enthusiasts should be expected to install shizuku and app ops and document the misery that's happening there. Also instal Adguard or other apps to track connections of services to China. You can expect your BBK China OS phone to have over 20.000 requests per day without legitimate ones like contacting for software updates. While global OS phones from Chinese manufacturers only collect metadata, China OS collects and uploads your text messages, phone calls content, social media messenger content, contacts, health data (if sensors active) and so on. This in turn renders idle drain on battery life to garbage as soon as you use this phone as a daily driver with your social apps /email and so on installed.
2. Two different systems for pushing notifications draining battery - cannot disable the Chinese one
3. Can debloats bloatware but not spyware
4. BBK has horrible track record on software updates on China OS phones. They often update their software major version based on older android versions and security updates not only come late but even for flagships in a 3 month schedule already in their year of release..
5. Problems with notifications of some apps using google FCM
6. Needs BBK account to replace the home launcher, constantly advising you to replace your Nova/whatever launcher with the inbuilt one
7. Complete list of google services not working and implications
A) google assistant unusable because no hotword and no continued conversation
b) setting up/restoring your phone takes ages because no google backup (could be partially fixed with incomplete google backup on latest software)
C) need to update play services and play store and google framework by hand from 3rd party sources because the versions on BBK appstore are often outdated causing problems
D) if mismatches on c) then apps like google pay stop working. Some credit cards cannot be added though you can add them on other phones google pay
E) no android Auto
F) no android nearby share
G) in future likely more as google makes more and more of their services to only work as system apps which they aren't on a China OS

8. Don't compare to China OS in OnePlus or Xiaomi because they have bootloader unlock and root so you can fix a lot of the above and install a global OS (mostly - see OnePlus problem of phones deactivating themselves when exported. Some oppo phones were problematic too).
9. Several useful settings are hidden in android like require VPN for all connections to hindr you using them (they exist so can ve activated by going to the original android settings via 3rd party apps)

Actually it's good it doesn't have the huge ultrasonic fingerprint sensor of X90pro+ because that one is a heck of battery drain at 7% of battery per day and there is no intelligent activation for it like only activates on power button or double tap to wake. BBK phones have countless options about their home screens in settings but very little options to deactivate sensors or save power.

Charging on PD chargers is slow, means if you want fast charge needs not only proprietary charger but also proprietary USB cable. Their Pin configurations are non standard.

What about WiFi 7 wifi 6e, is it actually working? On X90pp bbk saved costs by going for cheap modem and wi-fi/Bluetooth chip.

Test battery drain on 4G/5G for uploading/downloading big data amounts. It's horrible on vivo x90 aeries as in 2-3 times the battery drain of s23U. Wouldn't rule this out here either.

Are those compromises worth it for the camera?
I would much rather take Xiaomi 13 Ultra instead, that one at least can be freed from China OS if imported instead of buying global version.
It's not only the problematic warranty when you import or buy from import traders.

Oh yeah, how much direct bloatware comes pre installed? About 20 apps. How much bloatware including spyware is there? About 150 apps however with adb you can only remove about 120 of them and it's horribly confusing what you can remove and what not because BBK locks down functions when you remove some of the more intrinsic bloatware like messages app, phone app or their appstore. Things also change so if you try not to send all of your personal data to China and replace the apps with non spyware ones easy to brick essential functions of your phone - especially as things may keep on working until the next firmware update then break

I have a suggestion for GSMArena: Could you post the sample images for RAW and RAW Plus in this review? If it's not possible to post dng files then direct conversion into jpeg and including them on a gallery would be also fine. Thanks for your consideration.

It's only visible from up close, but it's definitely an observation that stands out compared to the other cameraphones with 1-inch sensors.".
Nevertheless, S23 Ultra in the comparison tool fare so much worse with grainy and fake looking picture so this phone should be sufficient for most of the case.
Verbal comparison with camera especially with interchangeable lens doesn't prove anything without image to prove and we don't even know the lens and image taking condition if the comparison actually happened.

Tell me how the portrait shot sample looks like wax to me when it captures all the skin pores and dust on the guy's t-shirt? Or do you see any smudged hairs on this photo of the dog? What about the distant tree branches in the third photo, does it look like an oil painting to you? You keep ignoring the context, blindly believing the editor's comments only when they support your narrative, and ignoring them altogether when they don't. How about you start looking into the actual samples to form your own opinion?

Because all the 3 cameras you have owned are outdated and produce extremely noisy images that do not even compare to what modern dedicated cameras/smartphones capture. If those trashy cameras are your baseline, then of course you've been conditioned to think that having tons of noise in a photo is actually a good thing.

The fact that you're praising that half-baked garbage of a "vlog" camera definitely says a lot about you. Awful lens sharpness, slow AF, mediocre as a video camera and pretty terrible for photos (especially in low light) and it doesn't even give you the option to shoot in RAW. You should go buy Xperia Pro-I before the stock runs out and support Sony :)

Does the ultrawide camera of this phone really have OIS? There is no mention of this on Oppo's official site nor on DXO Mark's.

Stop defending. Oppo has failed again.
Largerst cmos for mobile, 1 glass element, own ISP.
Still worse than devices with cmos 3x smaller.

I have had 3 pocket cameras. Kyocera 8MP 1/4", Kodak C182 12.2MP 1/2.3" and Sony W830 (20.1MP 1/2.3") .. None of them ever made this.

Edited jpeg from midranges (just bringing down exposure after overexposing on purpose + no more changes) look better than jpeg.

Same only happens to oppo, one plus, asus and motorola. Some other just turn into oil painting, but not wax.

Best part. Ppl here thought employees at Apple, Google, Samsung, BBK, Xiaomi were any better than ppl working at Nikon, Canon, Sony, Panasonic etc.
It is clear as bottled water they are not.

I've seen all the samples and I do not see how that's an issue - Flat surfaces are supposed to look clean, and noise reduction would only become a problem when it wipes out and smudges high-frequency details, such as grass or fine wall patterns on a building. Find X6 Pro seems to be absolutely excelling at preserving those textures while removing noises from where they are not supposed to be, say, the sky.

Those photos are exemplary from the pure image quality standpoint and the only problem I notice is very slight oversharpening (although I would say Xiaomi's authentic mode is the only one that does better than this in this regard). *Personally* I don't mind seeing slightly more grains in shadows because I think that would give those photos a slightly more "photographic" look, but complaining about the lack of noise in parts of an image where they are supposed to be lacking *as if it's a legitimate problem* is extremely questionable - because it's NOT a problem.

Nokia years ago sold their phone division to Microsoft. Has not made phones since. And works with telecon infrastructure, just like Ericsson, Zte, Huawei and Samsung.

Former Nokia employees in 2016 created new company called HMD GLOBAL. This company pays Nokia to use their namd on phones, attempt to sell more phones.
Phones are made by FIH/Foxconn.

As mentioned above, Nokia DOES NOT MAKE phones.
