Holy crap that's overpriced.

A 1080p display on a thousand dollar phone is completely inexcusable.

Oki, 06 Apr 2023I don't get why people care about QHD on such small sc... moreThere is a difference, subtle but there. I always wonder if peopke talking like you ever tried it themselves

117 hours of battery endurance rating despite having a smaller 4600mAh battery than the Edge 30 Pro's 4800mAh? Finally, the actual 865/865+/870 successor I've been looking for! Thank goodness Qualcomm got things right again with the 8 Gen 2. As for the camera, I see a noticeable improvement over the Edge 30 Pro with better contrast and clearer details.

Bring on the Edge 40 Ultra.

Oki, 06 Apr 2023I don't get why people care about QHD on such small sc... moreGo tell this to ppl that used to have S20 and complain about s22/23 having lower resolution.
They are 100% sure to be able to tell difference.

Androidheadlines review of xz2 premium compares screen with a vivo phone with 1080p, you can see image has way better texture on sony because of 4K

          2023 phone for €900 :

          1) has gorilla victus instead of Victus+ or victus 2.
          2) uses omnivision instead of sony imx766/890 or even samsung GN5
          3) oled panel is not samsung, lg nor sharp
          4) storage/ram probably chinese too (never as good as ones from toshiba, micron and samsung)

** not even using dng may save this camera. If isocell is super inferior to exmor counterpart, imagine omnivision.

Anders, 06 Apr 2023Better battery life than I was expecting so credit to Moto ... moreWhy u need phone with screen above 1080p? U cant experience benefit of higher resolution on such a small display.

Yep, in active usage it doesn't make any difference. But then when you take a screen capture it is just so crisp with a QHD device compared to FHD.

The Edge 40 front screen seems to have very git curve. That makes the less convenient to use. Samsung has given up curved front screen on S23 and S23+. Also reduced curve on S23 Ulta. Why does Motorola still use less user friendly curved screen ?

Anders, 06 Apr 2023Better battery life than I was expecting so credit to Moto ... moreI don't get why people care about QHD on such small screens. There's visually no difference. You can see blind tests on YouTube, most people don't notice any difference. If anything 1080p is better because it drains less battery. QHD and upwards only matter on laptops, tablets and bigger screens in general.

Motorola really upped their game. Clean Android with 3 years of upgrades, no nonsense specs, great cameras, and great price compared to Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi. I just wish they didn't go the same path in terms of headphone jack and microSD removal. Curved screen is annoying too. All in all much better than buying buggy Xiaomi device for 1300$

Anders, 06 Apr 2023Better battery life than I was expecting so credit to Moto ... moreForget about sd and Jack 3.5, that doesn't come back anymore! As far as I agree with you, but not a QHD screen, for that price they are asking

Better battery life than I was expecting so credit to Moto there. Still would've been better with 5k battery though.

And obviously the 1080p display is unacceptable on any phone over €800, the cameras are ok but not great and the lack of micro SD and headphone jack is never ok and the €300 price increase from the Chinese version is ridiculous

The worst thing about Motorola phone is that they don't provide updates. Moto Edge 30 Fusion is still on Android 12 and nobody knows when and if they are going to update it.

This phone looks good, the only big negative i see it's the cameras. Unimpressive in day and the zoom sensor...2x zoom in a flagship? shameful...in this day and age, anything less than 3X optical zoom in a flagship is a complete let down. This alone should force price down to 699 or less...
