Haters refuse to admit the reality: Huawei hardware is the best and has been for years! This is proven again with this smartphone!

NickValok, 09 May 2023No Google service,
No 5G,
High Price,
8+ Gen1 instead of... moreRight so no google services is a western issue, just because you need google services doesnt mean using its native software in its native market its not the best performing foldable you can get lol.
Ive used huawei before ( mate 10 pro, p40 pro), easily best interface phones vs competition at the time, easily best camera quality of the year, build quality (including this phone) is 2nd to none, actually have great features like using a proper IR biometric sensor. If they had google services i wouldnt ever change from their phones ever.
I bet this vs the fold in china is a no contest, this probably wipes the floor with it including the better battery for their market (which is where it makes sense to buy it really) so yes the device can get a 4.6 as an all round package. (this is with all the restrictions they have aswell, i mean the s23u got a 4.8 and its nowhere near a 4.8).

ThunderCrackR, 09 May 2023Interesting to see their working solution to have Google ap... moreTo be fair, it's ultimately still a workaround solution rather than native implementation so I can understand why the GSMArena review would base the content of their review on the basis of not having GMS.
On that note though, not having GMS and a lack of 5G combined with that asking price (being £350 more expensive than the Z fold 4 at launch) does make this a very poor purchase choice for most despite how good the hardware might be in all other areas.
I have to wonder who the target market for this is in Europe.. perhaps it's mainly intended for overseas Chinese students who can also be considered to be pretty well-off?

Interesting to see their working solution to have Google apps, including the accounts, not even mentioned in the review, considering you even have YouTube and Google on the home screen.

In some areas this is the best hardware in a book foldable, but it's going to need more than a slightly bigger screen to compete with the Z. Many of you here are spec chasers. You don't own a foldable and you have no intention of buying one so logically a bigger screen means a better device.
In reality, going by reddit comments and surveys, owners of the Z are split down the middle on their preference. Flip owners aren't even fully onboard with the bigger screen expected on the flip 5.
