Then there's SD 888/888+, 8 Gen 1, Dimensity 1080 and Exynos 1280 which makes choosing a recent SoC for midrangers quite underwhelming.

Mikeromeoz, 12 May 2023It actually has a decent improvement over the 870? Nicee. T... moreThe sustained performance it's gonna be bad, because they put a plastic back plate instead of a glass one, and it's reflected in cpu stress test.

How about Oneplus ace v2 / nord 3?
Is it a good choice than poco f5? I don't need OIS btw

For example in the benchmarks it is comaprable to the SD8G1 but in reality it's GPU is quite a bit weaker.

Best price for performance ratio in this price range. It blew samsung galaxy a34 or even a54 with exynos!

I think UD fingerprint readers are gimmicks i have it on my phone and i hate it. I would take side mounted over this any day.

side-mounted FP is faster than underscreen reader (optical one)

again with that fake always on display... while samsung have real one also on the A34. i think i will go with it or with the A54. they cost more but there is a reason

                              Nothing at all

Side mounted fingerprint reader is actually a pro in some situations. I personally found it to be faster more reliable and most importantly one hand operation ready compared to underdisplay counterpart

As alternatives I would have added the X4 GT (note I don't find OLED any better irl than IPS-LCD) ... the 8100 has pretty good performance, though not as good, it also doesn't throttle .. Unfortunately Xiaomi made X4 GT pretty much invisible in UK, and rare in EU.

                                  ..

Shame to see this thing throttle so bad (Note 12 Turbo does exactly the same thing - down to sub 70% on throttle test) - hard to digest given the huge vapor chamber on the phone - are all phones with Cortex X cores just bad in this respect, or is there another factor ??

quote : " It's also different from the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which we deem a simple rebrand of the Snapdragon 778G"

This isn't true, even if performance is very similar, at least the 7 Gen 1 is on a smaller node giving better performance per watt ...

The zero score is surely a mistake. Although I'd say it's fair for anyone phone without microSD support to get a zero

enpy, 12 May 2023Why don't they do GPU stress test???We need to say this every review, some phone have half of stress test, i dont know why Gsmarena ignore this important fact, it has potential to bring them lot of visitors.
