    the existence of iphone 12 has changed a lot. boxy frame, larger camera bump and lastly no charging brick.. competitors followed suit.

              even the redmi 10c has a better chipset that this, and that was supposed to be the bargain-bin option at the time.

                    Just to note the Redmi 10 is receiving MIUI 14 too, if the pages list ROM downloads are right, with either Android 12 or 13 depending of region.

                      mtk g88 and emmc 5.1.... pure ewaste. What's the point of mtk chips being cheaper than qualcomm chips if manufacturers aren't going to use newer socs?

                        I would upgrade to this phone but the harsh reality is it is the same phone that Huawei released in 2018 with Google services originally priced at $200 now sells for $90 since Huawei left the market affordable phones aren't value phones anymore as they say insanity will repeat and repeat expecting different results but in reality it will be the same results

                          I wonder when this perception will finally end. Only thing a heavier phone does is induce wrist pain. For the sake of our carpals, we should appreciate lighter phones, not heavier ones.

                          Same with the flat edges. „Premium“ feel and all, they cut into the hand and create hotspots (as in pain, not actually heat) much quicker. So while I like the glass back, the design is a pretty big downgrade otherwise in terms of ergonomics.

                                4 years of security patch? Well that's nice to hear! Well even though I'm a bit sad since they're still using Helio G88, a chipset that used in OG Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 2022, that barely different than Helio G85 or even Helio G80 that used in Redmi 9.
                                Also, speaks about Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 2022, that device is already receive Android 12 in most places, even Android 13 in China and Europe.

                                  If Xiaomi can deliver this long in a budget phone, maybe the mid range will also increase.

                                    It's the size of a tablet.

                                      The redmi note 12 4G is all round better than Redmi 12...
                                      And in some regions with discount Redmi note 12 has cheaper price compared to redmi 12
