The only downside i think is the screen.Comparing it side by side when playing PUBG,i found the colour is quite ‘pale’ compared to my old Redmi Note 10 Pro AMOLED even set at colourful setting.Even the advertised max brightness is 2000nit,i think it still lower than max 1200nit of my Redmi Note 10 Pro.(iPhone True Tone display off). But when i play 1440p HDR 60fps video on Youtube, both phone perform without any significant difference. The higher ppi number and different pixel matrix arrangement from Samsung display doesnt really excel more than old AMOLED on Redmi Note 10 Pro.

I'm loving the iPhone 15 pro max each day! LOL

Why no 48MP photo of the front of Vitosha Hall ? Apple requested that you do not show this ?
That seems to be a tendency in your reviews, when shooting any photos using the camera's native resolution, no longer included are the front photos of Vitosha Hall with those pesky window shades with round holes that are so revealing that upscaling is used to fake the native resolution.
Upscaling is nothing new and no need to hide that the phone makers are using it. The first phone I owned that did this was back in 2007 when I got the i-mobile 902 made by the Thai company Samart. Typical feature phone with an amazing Sony-produced 5MP CCD camera with Xenon flash, two aperture sizes, mechanical shutter and shutter speeds down to 2 seconds (4 seconds with EV +2.0). It was capable of really amazing photos. One feature I have not seen since is slow sync flash: slow shutter giving blurry movement in photos with one instant frozen by the Xenon flash. But for marketing purposes it did also offer an 8MP mode which was just 5MP photos upscaled to 8MP.

Drewwwww, 16 Nov 2023Which Photographic Style did you guys use on the photos? Probably the default one

I wonder when Apple will offer raw files in its camera app. Their dng files, which have baked in false machine learning details as well as aggressive noise reduction, have definitely nothing to do with raw.

I look for reviews of cameras panorama modes. Especially if their Ultrawide can do sweep panoramas as good as the main camera, but nothing! How can I buy a new phone when nobody does a comprehensive full review with full resolution samples (or even any in this case!) as they used to. It is VERY frustrating.

I performed a test on GSMArena's samples and concluded that the 24mp images in iphone 15 series are nothing special and they're clearly not downsampled from 48mp as some may mistakenly believe!

I downscaled 48mp samples to 24mp in imageresizer.com and compared them to default 24mp samples. It's clear that the 24mp images that were manually downscaled from 48mp samples had significantly more genuine details than default 24mp images. In fact, it was inconclusive whether these default 24mp samples had any genuine details over 12mp images that were also downscaled from 48mp samples in above website!

Now, to be fair, default 24mp samples do have a little more genuine details than default 12mp samples, indicating that apple is doing some form of computation/interpolation instead of just simple upscaling, probably using multiple frames from 12mp Quad Bayer array to estimate more details to be included into default 24mp images. But above comparisons show that this method is much more ineffective than simply downscaling 48mp samples from full pixel array. This is true despite the fact that imageresizer.com is unlikely to use any sophisticated algorithms for downscaling.

Historically, the great Nokia 808/1020 PureViews downscaled 38mp images to 8mp or 5mp images that were way better than any 8mp/5mp images from phones for years to come, and still remain competitive in some aspects. Also, those Nokias had proper RGB array and not these inferior multi-Bayer arrays of today.

My sincere advice to apple is that if they really opt for 24mp images, why not just use a 24mp sensor with normal RGB array and do away with this Quad Bayer inferiority? And once that's implemented give users an option to save as smaller but still high quality 12mp downsampled from 24mp frames from full pixel array.
