Apple iPhone 15 review

So originally, dont buy the vanilla iphone 15 its not that good, now they are blowing air up its backside making out its the best thing since sliced bread and are wrong in all areas they are over praising it, except maybe speakers and video recording.

Cameras are average, no idea how they are over praising it, detail is average, colours are way too muted and it cannot capture foilage well at all. This is also comparing it to my find x5 which in current day, is about average/slightly better than average at taking pictures.

Why are we still testing offline video? Who watches offline videos, ive never known anyone just sitting down watching ONLY videos they have recorded (most people are constantly using youtube or tiktok or scrolling through FB/twitter watching videos) , why the battery life segment hasnt been completely re worked, its so far off how a typical person uses their device on a typical day which is the whole point. Just because you explain you use an app that bases its testing off an hour of phoning and internet use which again, you're pointing out how flawed the testing is but im pretty sure its just to make galaxy phones and iphones look better than they are for battery (again seen other more real world usage tests on phones and the data here does not correlate to how these tests went lol, iphones look WAY BETTER on here than anywhere else battery wise).

Why on a lot of reviews do they either only compare certain phones with certain phones (like this iphone only having its battery compared to 14 pro and s23), ive seen it on foldables too when gsm hide, say the galaxy flip 5, in important tests to compare or will only compare it, on its own review, to the same company phones/main stream competitors, it seriously looks like GSM are trying to manipulate data at this point (not saying they are, just very very dodgey behaviour and looks very suspicious at this point).

Last point but where did gsm find the infomation of the iphone 15 having a 10 bit panel because i cant find it anywhere but this site constantly pushing certain unofficial specs on specifically, iphones (like the "unofficial" charge speeds they always put), they miss out features on other brands.

This review, just like the previous news article saying dont buy this phone, are mis leading and so confusing, its upsetting seeing thw quality slip from this team and site week by week now.

I was personally fine with the 4.5 score, considering the Pro Max got 4.6 and all it brought is titanium that gets critizism, a slightly better chip that is clocked too high so it becomes hot and a longer zoom which some deem less useful compared to the 3x. The standard model is at least a straight upgrade compared to its predecessor

Anonymous, 30 Sep 20234.5 for a phone that is behind the rest in multiple ways in... moreThey changed it to 4.1 which is more real than 4.5
Mine would've been around 4 or even 3.9 rating.

According to the EXIF files, the crop here is 4,36, which means the sensor is about 1/1,6" in size. The Pro model's sensor is therefore about 1,5x bigger. :)

Altough i love 15 base more than Pro's, i'm waiting until they add higher refresh rate to the base model and then i'll consider getting iPhone to try it out.
I chose S23 because it offers way more than base iPhone right now and i cannot pay almost double the price for base iPhone while offering nothing better.
I agree with the cons mostly, USB 2 is criminal on 1100€ device. Third camera isn't a deal breaker for me, battery seems amazing (what went wrong on 14 Pro to have such disaster battery life with the same chipset, i don't know). New redesign is great, the glossy back was looking cheap.
Overall it's a great deal for $799 (like in US), not 1100€ like in my country.

k, but what are the actual prices, with tax included in them (like the one in euros)
if GSM can add them for the phones in the specs page, that'd be great...

                [deleted post]Totally.

Jman, 30 Sep 2023If they were being paid by Apple, they would have reviewed ... moreThey base s23 matches the 15 in basically every department and comes with fast charging and a 120hz screen..

                      - No ultrawide autofocus
                      - No telephoto lens
                      - 60hz display
                      - Flagship price
                      - [Edit] Slow Charging

And still GSM Arena scores this product 4.5??

Thank goodness - they dropped the score

[deleted post]If they were being paid by Apple, they would have reviewed these phones a lot sooner, like last week? Also, the base Galaxy S23 has the same score.

This new sensor in iPhone 15 based on the rumours are new and may be better than 15 pro because they are stacked sony sensors as per the leaks . May be we will get the exact hardware details and they have better aperture as well

„Speaking of sizeable, the display bezels on the iPhone 15 are not exactly what we would call slim. They are perfectly reasonable for a modern device but definitely bigger than what you get on the Pro models.“

Interesting how this perception has changed, after all the 15 has the same bezel size as the 14 Pro and its bezels did not get a specific mention in the design section of the review. Maybe it‘s the cognitive bias that this is not a Pro-model which leads to such conclusions. It’s also interesting to think about that this serves Apple themselves, as they want to upsell people to the Pro. So when reviewers act like „oh this standard iPhone, it feels like from past times, rather get the Pro“ that’s what Apple wants, even when the reality is that the standard model would probably be fine for at least 90% of people and they wouldn’t even know what they were „missing“ compared to the Pro model. But the standard model (and Plus) doesn’t have a share of 90% among all 15 models, but more like 40% of past releases are any indication.

From my point of view rating should be around 3, not 4.5.

                                Negatives:
                                - 60Hz display,
                                - iOS is buggy mess,
                                - USB 2.0,
                                - slow charging speeds,
                                - ecosystem which draining more money from you,
                                - expensive.

4.5 for a phone that is behind the rest in multiple ways in 2023? You can't be serious.

You specs list 6.10“ but to be precise, it‘s 6.12“ (same as 14 Pro vs 6.06“ on 12 through 14 and 12 Pro and 13 Pro)
