Anonymous, 24 Oct 2023Everyone keep making foldable phones and non foldable phone... moreApple did NOT invent the smartphone, not even close. The Ericsson R380 was, in fact, the first smartphone released SEVEN YEARS before the stupid overpriced iphone came out. The R380 was actually pretty badass. I'd use it today over an iphone 13 lol.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2023Glass is used in thermoses which are designed to HOLD HEAT ... moreThermos is good at insulating heat not because it has glass, but because: 1) The glass is mirrored to reduce heat dissipation through radiation, 2) There's a vacuum space around the glass to eliminate heat conduction. Glass itself is better at conducting heat than plastic is, just pour some hot water onto a glass bin and a plastic bottle to see which one first becomes warm enough for you not to be able to hold it.
"Metal will hold heat as long as it's pre-heated"

Metal will hold heat as long as it's pre-heated. Plastic is the BEST for cooling...that's why the inner workings of a coffee maker, such as the part that holds the coffee grounds, is made of plastic. It will cool down faster than glass or metal. YMMV

I take one quality 70mm equivalent FL camera over a pair of mediocre 70mm and 230mm cameras any day in my life.

You... moreDo you have an idea how many compromises manufacturers would have to make just to make the battery user-replaceable on their phones? If you're a fan of a thicker chassis, lower battery capacity, worse heat dissipation, forced plastic back (A removable glass plate would be way too dangerous for an average Joe to handle), or even maybe worse cameras in general then be my guest.

Wow, underwhelmed again by the cameras. How can they call this a cameraphone with a 3x optical zoom (most underwhelming periscope design ever - slower lens for nothing) and then claim there's a 'lossless' 6x in-sensor zoom (so it's a CROP, so it's of course not lossless, you do lose information from half of the sensor). Compared to Samsung's S23 Ultra proposition this is a joke, and another OnePlus phone I'll have to skip which I'm saddened about because I really like their no-nonsense OS and approach otherwise. But their cameras are lame. And with all the room a foldable phone has... Come on OnePlus, give me a 15x optic and I'm sold!

Darth Caesium, 24 Oct 2023Removable batteries are coming back thanks to the EU. You... moreHonestly it's unnecessary and will set the industry back. 99% of people still will go into a shop to buy a replacement and have it replaced. Removable battery means it's harder to do IP ratings and more components to break because you're adding extra peices to the back plate that are more possible breaking points.
Not to mention all the Chinese phones that have 2 seperate cells in their phones, how will they work? I doubt their software will be happy with you hotswapping one battery and keeping another in. Just messy situation in general

I think I will finally come back to Oneplus, if this Open is so good, the Oneplus 12 will be awesome with a battery as good as the S23U, an (finally) upgraded telescop lens and the infamous buttery smooth UI. I hope devs of custom roms will be back on oneplus 12

Foldable phones are not ready yet.
Screen protectors have yet to be pasted well. Just take a look at complaints of Samsung Z fold 4.

Everyone keep making foldable phones and non foldable phones, but nothing surprise us like what apple did back in 2007. Apple started all of this but now everyone is making phones with 16GB or more RAM on there phone and trying to compare with IOS and ANDROID, even it is not the same..

Finally some decent competition here in Europe for the galaxy folds, still too pricey but in line with Samsung asking price. Warranty and software support are the big incognitas, time will tell.
