DOA based on pricing unless you really like Huawei. A Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro for 430USD is so much better in performance since it has 8+ gen1 SoC. If you want to match the performance of this tablet then my Lenovo Pad Pro 2021 with Snapdragon 870 is so much better for just around 290USD.

"The potential deal-breaker is the lack of Google Mobile Services. And while Gbox does deliver working Play Store apps that require GMS, including Google's own Maps, Gmail, YouTube, it may still be not enough for everyone."
if huawei can reach mass production, the lack of google mobile services will not be a Huawei problem, but a google problem. Huawei is powerful enough to drive an alternative ecosystem, even outside china. It will be a matter of time
And if this moment arrives, you'll see the GMS knocking on harmonyOs door
the balance of power will decide

i don't think it is a medium term problem for huawei
Once (and if, which is likely) they are able to have mass production of chips, the rest follows.
It is a powerful corporation than will drive first an entire ecosystem in China (they'll switching on harmonyApps), then other parts of the world. They can influence entire ecosystems.
The sanctions knew it and that's one of the main reason they targeted the chip production
If they overcome this material bottleneck, they can make many firms coding for them; whether by tools, tarfications, influence, marketing, lobbying, opportunities...
We are taking about one of the top tech compagnies in the world.

1000 euros for no google services LOL get lost with that.
i dont care how "easy" it is to get around no google services, for that price i shouldn't have to do workarounds...

jiyen235, 13 Dec 2023This tablet has the most balanced frequency response I'... moreThese are tablet speakers. Frequency response is unique there and the mids to lower highs being much weaker than on different tablets or phones means voices will not be as pronounced as they should be.

It is very good that a device with Kirin chipset is on sale globally. Those who use Huawei know that Huawei's self-developed chips work very well and perform well. Yes, there are some disadvantages, but these are due to the trade war between the US and China. I believe that in the near future Huawei will make much better processors and much better software. Overall the tablet looks really nice and I hope I can buy one

Honestly, it looks quite good. But at that price, I could buy a very well equipped laptop that can do much more than that. Not to mention, that's at the same price range as the iPad Pro, which is still unbeatable with tablet optimized apps.

Wait,what???
Why performance a positive?? This is a 1000E device with Snap870 performance almost in 2024...
And yes, despite the gorgeous(with ugly notch)Oled display, the lack of google services, outside of China is a huge dealbreaker, especially at this price point.

GSMArena, your are using some weird double standards when it comes to Huawei.
If samsung released a tablet with a chipset and software like that at such asking price, you'd be roasting it red hot.
Basically, a midrange performance with inferior autonomy and limited OS for a flagship price.
No matter how high quality the hardware is it should not get a recommendation when you can get a Tab S9 for 200€ less

alski10, 12 Dec 2023Why would you ever buy this instead of a S9 Ultra or an iPa... moreThe Kirin 9000S is gonna struggle BIG TIME. The GPU in the Kirin is half the raw power of the Tensor G2. (3k vs 6k)

Why do these Chinese brand suffer from inferiority complex . Why can't they be comfortable with being themselves .the notch or Mac inspired design what ever you call, is certainly there to resemble some certain other device .The software is also seems to be a mix and match of different things . No originality.they have absolutely nothing to stand themselves apart .
