Yuri84, 08 Jan 2024Phones do not determine audio quality for wireless headphon... moreI agree. Till few years ago, they kept audio quality test for headphones, then shut it down giving a clearly unreasonable reason:- all audio devices sound roughly the same now.
I own the LG G8x and no sir, the other phones do not sound the same.
I still suspect its some kind of propaganda by some forces behind the industry and GSMArena was instructed to do this.
Secondly, I'm sure ROG series also had some big name DAC behind it, so it may end up giving some solid audio quality.. and I've heard about it. So, please check it once.
Although its a big and heavy gaming phone, not a typical office-bearer's compact phone by any length, no getting around this.

Bases on your phone specs the Moto Thinkphone speakers destroy the iPhone and every other phone with a -21.6 Excellent rating. Am I missing something?

And phones with a headphone jack are extremely rare these days, so there's not much to review
A few examples of modern phones with headphone jack: budget devices (sound quality is not a priority), Sony flagships (poor audio quality compared to entry-level Sony Walkman), ASUS ROG phones (audio quality is not a priority). There are occasional phones from smaller manufacturers, but audio quality is rarely a priority (LG was the only company I know of that put "quad dac" into phones and, as far as I know, they had very good audio quality, but LG Mobile got shut down).
As for wireless headphones, they should sound identical connected to any supported devices (devices that support the best audio codecs that wireless headphones/earless buds support).

I seriously don't understand why the iPhone is seen as the best sounding smartphone of 2023. It has a good frequency response curve, yes, but the actual sound when listening to it sounds nothing alike the graph. Bass is very artificial and sounds like water droplets, and the midrange and high notes are highly compressed and distorted. It sounds like the speakers are about to be blown.
The S23 Ultra is much better in this regard than the iPhone, it may have less bass, but at least the bass isn't terribly artificial, and the sound is clean with many details. Maybe a bit too much compression still, though.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra sounds very pleasant, possibly not the loudest, but not compressed at all. Bass is surprisingly deep, but there's a 10KHz peak, unfortunately, which makes it much worse than it could've been.
However, the ROG Phone 7 should be number 1 in this ranking. It is the only smartphone with the capability of producing deep bass notes (hear yourself in Track 5), and also sounds good otherwise (clear and no distortion). Yes, treble is a bit far back, but you can easily solve this with the built-in equalizer. ROG phones have always had the best speakers, looking forward towards the Phone 8 (even though they removed the front facing drivers).
As for the other flagships, the P60 Pro isn't too bad, but it has badly implemented bass enhancement. The Honor Magic 5 Pro is good too, but doesn't have any bass. The Pixel 8 Pro is too compressed and distorted, and the RedMagic 9 Pro is the worst one here by far.

The A34 is truly an all rounder device.
Great Camera, Amazing Display, Great Sound performance, Powerpul chipset and And a very good battery performance.
Even though the price is relatively high in many countries.
And no charger in the box makes it worse.

Loudness is average, bass is quite weak, there is not much depth in the sound. Though highs are pretty clean. Though overall sound quality far from good,even in the budget segment, i've seen and heard better sounding phones, some of them even dont have the stereo setup, just a bottom firing one. Still they sound better somewhat
Overall i'll give it 5.75 out of 10.
