Anonymous, 19 Feb 2024You mean fakeme?Not realme specific. The big players are worse because they have more resources to implement image fakery algorithms. Worst is the fruit with their overdone oversharpened fake textures on walls.
Phones like the realme 6 pro on the other hand, had a rather natural rendition to it, even if it wasn't always color accurate, but looked nice.

God, sometimes I wish the GSM Arena crew would also test phones for bootloader unlock and rooting ability or rootability
Realme would fail the rooting test miserably.

No studio camera testing. It is more valuable than the outdoor shots-taken on a gloomy day. I'd the like the studio test to see how superior the main camera is vs x6 Pro

hey gsmarena, you should run 3dmark on x6 pro. the latest I've seen with wild life stress test is a constant score of 2000 points (old testing shows 3000 but throttles to 2000). This makes the realme 12pro+ superior in 3d games with 3000 points.
The higher price of this Realme is not bad compared to Poco X6 Pro (albeit lacking infrared and 3.5mm). Personally, Poco has been constantly increasing prices ever since the F1 and X3 Pro, both are expensive to my taste

Yet another Chinese E-waste ! Trust them to mess up decent hardware with awful software. Also 12MP Ultrawide was needed.

It seemms that the main shooter of the realme12pro+ is a stepback compared to the previous version, it's a shame considering that it has a telephoto instead of that useless macro shooter and a slightly better ultrawide.
All in all, not exactly a high end experience for a small price in the camera department, hopefully the next version will fix that issue and bring back a proper main shooter and an even better ultrawide.

Going forward in future reviews you will find 1-2 Portrait samples among the other camera samples. Despite marketing claims, we have seen no progress in this feature in recent years. It's already good enough across all phones, so we see no reason to dedicate it a separate section any longer. If we see some big strides in this respect from future devices, we'll have more samples and detailed commentary.

It was 3MP, paltry by today's standard, but it had 4X optical zoom and took nice pictures. The compact camera format seems to be a dying breed, but the latest from Canon has 40X optical zoom (and shoots 4K vids). Digital photography is now dominated by smartphones (for good reasons) but if you look beyond the camera bump, it's clear that smartphones are terminally handicapped in the zoom department.
