"something we do hope for Xiaomi to improve with an update", Xiaomi are famous for being very bad at improving anything at all with updates, so do not expect any improvements on what you get out of the box!

Since POCO's F3 and F4 went on with messy performance-degrading software updates, the D8020/8050 phones from Transsion perform better than these two SD 870-powered POCO phones in terms of sustained overall performance.

you talk about THREE years of major android updates which isnt'all that bad. Then why the older Note 12 Pro Plus gets only two major versions?

OpposedScroll75, 25 Feb 2024seems like I chose correctly when I got myself a Poco F4 ... more870 is still running strong. Only the Dimensity 8200 or the 7 Gen 3 can match its performance in the current midrange segment, and still you're better off overall by getting the former flagship chipset. 7+ Gen 2 is better but apparently it will never be on more phones, still the F5 is great. Dimensity 8300 in the X6 Pro is also faster, and that phone is also a better deal than this overpriced brick.

                  Wow surprised for the rating

Just got this as an upgrade to my Samsung A71. Screen is bright and clear. The 120W charger charges this thing quicker than a SpaceX Falcon lifting off. Love the design, and yes it's a slippery phone. Glad there's an included cover. Effortlessly transferred everything from my old Samsung.

Not found a downside to it yet. But it'll be used daily as my sat nav,

OpposedScroll75, 25 Feb 2024seems like I chose correctly when I got myself a Poco F4 ... moreYep. The price of this phone is a joke. I can buy a Poco F5 (which has a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2) and that's only 1,100 Dhs (~$300) and that absolutely sweeps this in every way.

The IP68 rating is very nice, and so is the 120Hz HDR10+ AMOLED 12-bit screen, but no way is this phone worth so much.

2024 upper midrangers still can't match the SD870.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2024Mobile SoCs are 10bit at most for screen support. You can... morePeople are right when they say that almost all content is still 8-bit, very little is 10-bit and virtually nothing is 12-bit and above.

That doesn't mean it is useless. One extremely useful use is in media and photo production. You can differentiate between far more shades of the same colour when using higher bit-depths.

Most professional cameras shoot above 16-bit colour depth and this means they capture fine details and gradation far more accurately, not to mention, you can edit them and it will still look almost perfect.

Yes, the computer monitors used to display and edit these photos can't even display 16-bit (indeed, even the absolute best monitors today are still 10-bit) but you absolutely still can see the difference in the final image.

An 8-bit image can only display 16 million colours, while a 16-bit image can display 28 billion colours!

Obviously this is an extremely specialised scenario and 95% of people won't notice any difference, especially not in daily use, just pointing this out as an example to prove that 12-bit colour depth is not a gimmick and is not completely useless.

Camara quality also poor even using 200mp option, compair to lowest price others brand this is not workable, waste of money and te, service center people and customer care people also don't know the proper knowledge and they don't know how to speak with customer,

Only 11 more versions to go to catch up with the note 11 series.

I was really impressed by the GPU stability until I saw the score was only 4000. In terms of pure performance benchmarks, the Dimensity 7200 Ultra is supposed to slot just under the Snapdragon 870, but that chip is leagues ahead.

Any phone with the 870 could easily maintain that low a score indefinitely.

IDK who decided to change the review Photographs view and angle. How are we supposed to compare? It's been this since Galaxy A15 review.
