Google uses UFS 3.1 on their 1000 USD flagship and it's not like other midrangers are far ahead. For example the Redmi Note 13 Pro uses UFS 2.2. Nothing's optimization is damn near classic Oneplus/Google level so I'd say them using UFS 2.1 is completely okay if Xiaomi can get away with UFS 2.2 on their midranger. This phone's price makes it okay, not saying it's great but a midranger can't be perfect in every sense and still cost less. Corners have to be cut to save money and they did a fine job.

        Yes phones do use it, supposedly the honor 90 does it to 3840hz (im guessing that's why they get the "dc dimming" ability) to deal with the brightness issues (essentially the pwm dimming is what gives the screen the brightness steps illusion). It only kicks in (higher rate) at lower brightness levels.

        A side note to GSM, you need to start including that xiaomi 14 series phones (maybe 13 aswell) record dolby vision on the front camera at 1080p/30fps, quite an important feature for people who want higher quality recording options and didnt know (chinese phones get a lot hate (my p40 pro took selfies on par with the pixel 6 pro and its almost 2 years older and uses a quad bayer 32mp cam).

          Ufs 2.1 has been around longer than that, more like since around 2017 (so 7 years ago)

                  Why buy a Nothing Phone 2a, when you can get Oneplus Nord 3 for same money, or even less, with it being similar in capabilities but with a better processor from Mediatek and faster charging? I've yet to see one reviewer mentioning this, but they love to compare this to it's bigger sibling that's 40% more expensive?

Xiaomi 14 is one of the best devices out there with DC dimming mode which completely remove flickering. Read review of the device on this site if u dont believe me.

                      Another boring software review. Is it very hard to take a few UI screenshot and not to see screenshots from an old phone. If feels like you are not reading a software review of the current phone. Just take a few screenshot of the home page with it's nee wallpapers that way the software review section becomes immersive 🥺☹️ 😢

All of the performance testing was done after the update. We will do our best to re-shoot and upload new camera samples, but that will be time-permitting unfortunately. In the meantime, if you have any particular aspect of the camera post-update that is "testable" in mind I could perhaps offer some information with the phone at hand. Just PM me.

                                I dont understand why gsmarena stopped including the new phones reviewed in the camera comparison tool.
                                It was one of the most effective ways to check if a new phone is worth over your older device etc

                                        Within a sea of generics Galaxy AXXs and Redmi/Xiaomi with their cheap-looking OS, this can only stand out, and in a good way.

                                        I can only point out the use of antique UFS 2.1 storage technology, something introduced 5 years ago which is decades in this industry. For a company supposedly paying extra attention to details, this is a glaring oversight.
