But design wise Xiaomi, Realme, even Tecno clear the samsung A series, the A35 and A55 just look plain as ever while the cheaper ones have awful bezels that look worse than a 3 year old device...

Unless you really into one ui and dual stereo speakers, the vivo v30 is much better pick, which even more steal than the a55.

Technological progress could not keep up with the ever increasing demand for more battery. And compared to competitors, this has a Li-Ion battery which has lower density but better longevity than Li-Po.

The A34 was a decent choice for a lay consumer wanting an inexpensive Samsung phone with large screen. The A35 adding bulk weight is not helping. Why oh why Samsung. The A34 managed to keep under 200g. But nope, gotta add more bulk just because. And this is the same company that did an A7 in 2017, glass front and back with metal frame, IP68, and weighed 186g. Material choice is no longer an excuse for the weight. It’s bad design.

6gb of ram in 2024 at this price point(A35)is unacceptable.

Most people will have a two or even 3 year contract so are not in the market if they have signed up for the A34

The A35 all but replaces the A54 also and is using the same Exynos chip
Like you said the A35 battery test (4 components ) are better than the A54s
ALSO are Geekbench 6 and Antutu Scores
Just on that the A35 buyer of the 2nd tier A phone gets a better deal than the 2023 A34.
So whilst many are saying this phone is better than that phone etc.
Note that Samsung reduced the price of the A34 and A54 during a sale it then reverted to the launch price. If you shop around within 3 months of launch only Samsung will be selling the A55 and A35 at launch price
If say I was in the market for a phone at launch price I would have pre-ordered
A lot of quibbling with no suggestion, what design do you suggest Samsung adopt?

my wife broke her smartphone and doesn't remember anything about the cloud and accounts.
fortunately I had inserted a micro SD card and was able to recover a lot of data beyond the photos.
now and always long life smartphones with micro SD card

Coast, 23 Mar 2024I don't know why people still buy Samsung budget phone... moreNonsense. The A34 is an excellent phone and bar wireless charging does everything I need it to with no lag whatsoever. The thought of paying an extra thousand pounds on top of what this phone cost for a few extra features is ridiculous.
