Low to mid range beast at best. We're not in 2020 for 8gb of ram to be enough, especially considering all of that google bloatware on the phone. 8gb should have been the base option and 12gb (preferably 16gb) as a high end one.
If poco F1 stops booting, connecting to cellular towers other repairs needed this is a go to phone. Otherwise just skip.

Pumpino, 01 Apr 2024Some phones look great on paper but that doesn't mean ... moreMotorola is worst brands if you likemto record video.
1080p out of my old sony z4 is far better than 1080p from my G62.

Pumpino, 01 Apr 2024Some phones look great on paper but that doesn't mean ... moreIt doesn't just look great on paper, it looks great, literally. I would say the design is quite nice too. But aside from that, yeah it's not looking too great.

Some phones look great on paper but that doesn't mean much. A poor display, poor speakers and poor video recording make this an instant fail. As someone else mentioned, the Motorola Edge series offers better overall devices. Even though the camera performance is average, you get great displays and speakers. Hopefully the Edge 50 series improves the cameras.

Ouch that was a bit scathing. Wasn't what I was expecting. Thought it would fair better but at that price there must be a few compromises. Not sure why it would struggle with higher than 1080p YouTube videos.

The A55 is 439 and the nothing phone 2a is 319, so if oneplus are smart they could be onto a winner. Important to remember it comes with a awesome 100W charger in the box which is worth at least 40 pounds!!

apparently, despite some small defects (but it has the micro SD slot), it seems more convenient than the Samsung a55, so we are waiting for the complete review, the release and the price in Europe to find out whether to buy it or not.

Considering the price point - it is very good not sure why GSMA is complaining - only OP, Nothing, Moto provide an adfree experience in this price point and these phones don't have a good processor + UFS 3.1 + fast charging which does make a difference.

Moto Edge 40 still seems like the superior phone overall

It's a good phone and all but cameras are okay, performance is good for non-gamers, and what not. With that said, it doesn't have any outstanding perks to set it aside or establish it's dominance, like what the GSMA team said.

The phone is faster than A55 and (2a) according to AnTuTu 10 but if you want something more mainstream with better photos, longer OS updates (4/5 is enough) then I'd keep shopping. If this seems like it does the job for you, then I'd wait for (video) reviews and consider the downsides before buying.

OnePlus has some issues with display quality. Green lines, bad colors, bad brightness, very bad pwm in low environment, etc. Phone looks great on paper and has great price, but I'm pushed back with reviews. Plus, they are more and more unavailable in certain markets.
