This hands on highlights one thing that really annoys me in my Redmi phone. HDR doesn't have a manual switch on. You can only switch it to off or auto. Most of the time it's ok but sometimes when you want it to work it just doesn't and there is no way to force it on. Xiaomi used to give the option to manually set it on a few years ago if I remember correctly but they took it away in recent years. I think all brands should give the option to set it on manually for situations where it refuses to engage. I think Vivo still does (they did last year anyway in the x90) but not sure about others. Think Oppo only has the auto or off option too.
